zephyr1957 comments on Colombia vs Cuba

Depends on the way... You travel. For an all included, Cuba is fine. Backpacker style is hard to get by with not so cheap restaurents and boarding house. If you aren't decided yet for Colombia ( never been so far myself ) consider Puerto Plata in Dominican Republic. Lots of nice beaches, cheap food and hostelling. E-mail me for places to go.

zephyr1957 comments on Working illegally?

Ok.... It's true I wanted to know about illegal but my question is incomplete. I was invited by a school for a job interview in Colombia but the Colombian embassy told me I'm to get the visa before departure. I've read many times schools won't hire you from abroad, sounds like catch 22 to me.

zephyr1957 comments on One way possible or roundtrip only?

Not so sure, I have flown a couple times directly in the states and I told them " I'm taking the bus back to Canada" and never bothered me.

zephyr1957 comments on Alternative to banks?

well, I have a bank account let's say for some reason I leave a minimum there, can I change them Travelers at a good rate elsewhere than banks?

zephyr1957 comments on One way possible or roundtrip only?

thanks ... for your entries, I'm always wondering about those rigid rules created to sell more tickets. It doesn't make sense if one wants to visit 3 or 4 countries in an area.

Can I make it with a bus ticket to the next country? :-)

zephyr1957 comments on importing my scooter

So, from what you say... driving your own car down there won't make any difference since you can't legalise it! Am I right?
