Year of the Rat

For those of you who follow the Chinese calendar, this is the year of the Rat. And I happen to be a Rat.

Rats, in general, are leaders. They are charismatic, practical, hard-working, clever and intelligent, and they adapt easily to their environment. On the other hand, they can be aggressive and stubborn. Rats are most compatible with dragons, monkeys and oxen. They are incompatible with rabbits, goats, roosters and horses.

Additionally, metal Rats (that's me) are: Ambitious and forceful, but also controlling. They can bring about changes in those who come in contact with them.

So friends....what year do you fall under? Anyone compatible with me???

The following are rough guides. Rough, because the Chinese New Year doesn't begin on January 1.

Years of the Ox (roughly) - 1901, '13, '25, '37, '49, '61, '73, '85, '97, 2009

Tiger - 1902, '14, '26, '38, '50, '62, '74, '86, '98, 2010

Rabbit - 1903, '15, '27, '39, '51, '63, '75, '87, '99, 2011

Dragon - 1904, '16, '28, '40, '52, '64, '76, '88, 2000, 2012

Snake - 1905, '17, '29, '41, '53, '65, '77, '89, 2001, 2013

Horse - 1906, '18, '30, '42, '54, '66, '78, '90, 2002, 2014

Sheep - 1907, '19, '31, '43, '55, '67, '79, '91, 2003, 2015

Monkey - 1908, '20, '32, '44, '56, '68, '80, '92, 2004, 2016

Rooster - 1909, '21, '33, '45, '57, '69, '81, '93, 2005, 2017

Dog - 1910, '22, '34, '46, '58, '70, '82, '94, 2006, 2018

Pig - 1911, '23, '35, '47, '59, '71, '83, '95, 2007, 2019

I guess if they forgot years of the Rat and the Pirate - CG and I feel like oppressed minorities. Does this mean we are entitled to begin a facebook page encouraging international marches calling for "No Mas Anos Sin Gatas y Piratas"? And WTF? Pirate is feminine en espanol? Who do I talk to about this?

Hey, I love the descriptions on this site HG...

"Dragon people are the most eccentric..."
"They listen to their own drummer, thank you very much, while the rest of the world stands in amazement..."
"...they ooze charisma..."

LOL... So, much truth in these descriptions...

MT - Here's the article where I pulled info about Year of the Rat
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/life/main/5503229.html

According to the chart, you're a Water Rat:
Water signifies softness, wisdom and flexibility. A person under water influence also can be indecisive.

Sound like you??? I would think so.

RJ - What a glitch in the website! Here's some info on the Pig. Sound like you?

Those born under the Chinese Zodiac sign of the Pig are extremely nice, good-mannered and tasteful. They’re perfectionists who enjoy finer things but are not perceived as snobs. They enjoy helping others and are good companions until someone close crosses them, then look out! They’re intelligent, always seeking more knowledge, and exclusive. Compatible with Rabbit or Goat.
