Wigan ties Manchester City 1-1

In a game they really should have won, Wigan tied 10 man Manchester City 1-1. Hugo Rodallega had several opportunities to score but Manchester City keeper Shay Given denied him every time. After Given stopped a blistering Rodallega shot, Charles N'Zogbia scored on the rebound for Wigan's only goal.

Little Wigan are doing well; beat my team Chelsea a couple of weeks ago and now this result against possibly another emerging giant. Great to see small teams with little financial clout holding their own in such a money-orientated league.
Like Stoke last year; everybody's favourite for the drop.

I had to laugh when I read an article a few days ago about Sunderland being interested in Chilean, Humberto Suazo and Paraguayan, Salvador Cabanas. The article seemed to imply that Sunderland boss, Steve Bruce, had some kind of keen eye to notice these guys. Geez, they're only two of the most famous footballers in Latin America! Not a big secret guys! Sometimes I think that there is a total disconnect between the Spanish-speaking world and the English-speaking world.

Europe is primarily concerned with Argentine and Brazilian players. These players often have an easier time obtaining work permits and have a history of better adaptability.

I think if there was a professional league in Tibet, you'd find a few Argentines in it.

Well, South Americans often struggle in the prem. Look at Veron and Forlan, for example. Steve Bruce has the whole world to look at, and England has always been more Euro-centric (in terms of footballers).

As for the result, I think Rodallega got man of the match!
