What is a liberal

Interesting point of view:

"First and foremost, do not confuse the hate-America liberals of today with the liberals of the past. Liberals have devolved from meaningful contributors to society to this diseased view of the world that top psychiatrist Dr. Lyle Rossiter has deemed to be clinically nuts.

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?f...

One merely has to view these miscreants to understand just how correct Dr. Rossiter is. Liberals hate everything for which we stand. They are of the opinion that we mere mortals are incapable of facing the trials and tribulations of daily life and require big government to face them for us.

When confronted with an issue that requires a tough decision, the liberal answer is to create more taxes and to spend our money to resolve these problems -- even though they have not figured out a solution on how to best use our hard earned money.

In a speech delivered in the German Reichstag on January 30, 1937,

http://www.calvin.edu/academic/cas/gpa/h...

Adolf Hitler stated in defense of his socialist agenda, "It is out of the question that millions of individuals should be allowed to work just as they like and merely to meet their own needs."

Confront a liberal with that quote and see if any of them disagree. I have yet to find one. That is the focus of the hate-America liberal agenda. The concept that we Americans should work towards life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is as foreign to today's liberals as it was to Hitler, as it was to Stalin, as it is to Castro and it is to Hugo Chavez.

Corporations that provide services, earn income for shareholders and provide meaningful jobs for workers, are the stated enemies of today's liberals. Liberals want big government to create meaningless jobs that provide enough income to survive and reward those who do not contribute to society.

Americans believe in helping hands, not handouts. We believe in opportunity for all, and reward success. There are many issues facing this nation. But with all of our problems, we still live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. We shall fix our problems one by one, not tear it apart to become some socialist state.

Staunch anti-communist, John F Kennedy, proudly declared himself a liberal. Can you imagine the hate-America liberals of today standing up to the Soviet Union they way Kennedy did in October of 1962? If today's liberals were in charge back then, nuclear missiles would have been installed in Cuba while liberal leaders sought an international consensus on what to do -- and we would all be speaking Russian now."

The article does not show up in the link above about JFK declaring himself a liberal.

JFK distinctly separated himself from FDR New Deal traditions in 1946.

He positioned his 1960 campaign as being different from the liberal Adlai Stevenson campaigns of '52 and '56. JFK and RFK thought Stevenson was effeminate.

Both JFK and RFK were friends with, and politically supported, Joe McCarthy.

JFK cut the capital gains tax while president.

JFK wanted to make the world a fairer place with civil rights and he was progressive.......but not as liberal as his successor LBJ. Just another reason of why he was shot......he was resisting and going slow on civil rights.

tasco: The republicans aren't for big government? Are you sleeping? Stop reading their lips and start reading their bills and their budgets.

It is damned tiresome to hear the Rush Limbaughs of the World claim that, if you are a Liberal, you believe in this, that, and something else. You can not cookie-cutter categorize thinking people that way, UNLESS you're Rush Limbaugh, or some fellow traveler.

That was Harold Ford with Maher. I'm sure the 3rd guy wasn't Sarkozy, but in a glimpse he certainly looked like him.
