BEND OVER AND KISS YOUR ASS GOODBY.....
those crazy loose canons...the islamic militants in pakistan have killed binazir bhutto. great, with that country sitting on nuclear triggers...AND THAT, under not so secure conditions. what do you think about this?

India and Pakistan have been on the brink of pressing the button for almost 20 years, as was the US and Russia for even longer. The difference between today and last week is someone else is dead. Kiss your time goodbye watching the news as your ass will be on the couch and it's hard to kiss your own ass even if you are a yogi. Nothing is going to change.

maybe you're right. see how easy mistakes are made...i meant this to be in "do your own thing" but pushed the wrong button.

i can see it now, some radical, pushing the wrong button. "oh, shit! i thought it said the 'lunch' button, not the 'launch' button...."

after the shit goes down, who's gonna care when we say...'i told you so'. crap. only france, britain, germany, u.s., italy and spain appear to give a shit. and the rest of the world has some lakadaisical (sp) attitude...

when it comes to nukes, clean or dirty, doesn't make a hell of a lot of difference, when the half life of those materials is something approaching a million years. give me a drink.

in 1981 as a student political activist I was invited to the Whitehouse with hundreds of other 'young americans for freedom'. Reagan was there (already had his assassination attempt) as was Anwar sadat. They gave speeches on the front lawn of the whitehouse and I thought it was pretty cool. About 1 week later Sadat was assassinated.

A few years ago I was on a business class flight to NYC and Benazir Bhutto was sitting in the seat in front of me. I would never have known but she made sure everyone nearby knew who she was.

Now's she's been assassinated too.

Those are the only world leaders I have ever seen up close, (except for canadian prime minsister Joe (Who?) Clark, and he's too boring for anyone to want to knock off), so I'm thinking I'm a bad omen.

jeje maybe GIB. I don't like her much. I hate to admit Bill is looking better and better in hindsight...that just shows how bad GW really is.

sorry I don't have anything intelligent to say about it, I think my mind is numb from all this bullshit. Like Lowell, I'm just glad to be away from (most) of it.

Unfortunately I don't think there is any reasoning with religious fanatics. This will not end well, or quickly. I think the world is in for some isolationism soon (borders will be shut so tight for security, and people will be afraid to travel outside of the 'normal' vacation spots like the caribbean).

pod, you're correct again. I wasn't a Bill fan - but I always admired the guy's political skills.

W embarrasses me. How did I NOT see him coming? I know better than to back anyone who professes a "born again faith" - they're all idealogues, who think god tells them the correct path.

I take comfort in thinking that both times, he was apparently the lesser of two evils.

yea Bills political skills especially the cigar episode.
lets face it all the politicians in washington are embarassing, over the years all these politicians have done and said ridiculas things from W to the Clintons to Pelosi to whoever, they are all out of control, i'd like to see them all removed and a whole new group put in their place, we need a fresh new start with fresh new leaders.

so you are only wanting a somewhat radical change, with no hangings, and soforth, as in the past, which brings back up the question, "why not the dawg?"

admittedly, arriving can feel great too

I mean, I clean up well, I take personal responsibility for my actions, mistakes and all, I have no extreme bad habits, I feel for the poor and downtrodden, I have no obligations to special interests who have funded me, I see good but not good enough in all of these candidates, I have no extreme skeletons in the closet, I admire both Kennedy and Reagan, I believe in free enterprise, and yet believe in the government having a central role in education, policing, firefighting. Why not me, compared to these well funded guys within the machine, an extreme outsider, but one who is a decent person, not narcissistic, one who loves his country, and yet sees beyond it, as in, appreciating all peoples of the world, though recognizing and accepting our role as the current leader, in many ways? Why not the kid, someone fresh, someone truly wanting to serve, in and of itself?

gs don't start chiming in on the delusions of grandeur theme. I don't even care. I got all I need, and I live a simple life. I would truly be able to serve, without special interest considerations.

I watched a John Edwards ad, Mr. Sincere, and was thinkin, he grew up not 30 miles from where I did, and he keeps showing that mill house in Seneca, SC where he came from. I would be perfectly happy to live in that house now, what's the big deal. I even like log cabins, would be happy there, and I don't mean those new designer high dollar ones.
