I hope ColombianoGringo, PurpleFrog and Mario are all sheltered or evacuated. I'm hunkered down in my walk-in closet. The lights are flickering and the rain has begun (11:30 pm) and the wind is about 65 mph and the hurricane has yet to arrive!

houston gal......glad to hear you're ok, ispoke with southbound lastnight worrying about you and he assured me you are a survivor/toughie, and not to worry. so here you are wishing you had some coffee..... when charlie hit here several years ago, we didn't have elec. for months and we had to use our colombian propane stove in the garage and i used my molina from colombia, to grind coffee...works great.

anyway, hope all you folks made it through the night with no more than a little water here and there.

I actually found some ground Kona coffee in the freezer so I had some coffee this morning along with some blueberry pancakes (thank goodness for gas stoves!).

I have an old-fashioned grinder Douglas (among all my antiques!). I don't think it's a real antique, but it could be and someone stripped its original finish. But it takes a lot of turns to grind coffee with it. Thanks for your concern. I hope we get power back soon!!!
