tinto!

i'm glad to see you around again! i have a coffee question, please?

someone told me the other day about a VERY expensive coffee from somewhere around the indian ocean. the story was, some sort of marsupial eats the coffee beans, passes them basically undigested, at which point they're "harvested" by the natives.supposedly the animals gastric juices flavor the beans mildly. ( i'd be more worried about "other" flavoring, but that's the tale i heard...)

any truth to this, or was my wooden leg being pulled? hellva line of crap ;), true or not. i had no idea how to google an answer, so i thought i'd ask our resident expert.

Hola Slygy ...you asked this question before. I don;t recall you getting a straight answer the last time either. Hope you have better luck this time.

It's true - look up Kopi Luwak coffee or civet coffee. Someday I'll buy a cup just to say I had it, but at $180 per pound for whole beans, I don't think I'll have seconds.
