This is for LDW: The News is talking about Edward's affair...

Lcacique says on Aug 8, 2008, 14:16:

Are you happy, LDW?

LDW: "This past week, former U.S. Senator John Edwards was caught, apparently in a secret liaison with a woman who is not his wife at a Los Angeles hotel. The presumptive extra-marital affair was immediately blacklisted by the liberal media. There was virtually no news about the incident.

I suspect media libs strongly believe John Edwards is a leading candidate for Barry HUSSEIN Obama's vice-presidential slot. Thus the feigned ignorance, suppression and relative omission of John Edwards embarassing situation."

My response: "The National Enquirer alleges that it has caught Edwards and Rielle Hunter. Not exactly a reputable source; therefore, it is no wonder that other media outlets are not jumping on the story yet. I am not arguing that the story is false, but I would not rush out and print something as factual if the only evidence you have is a copy of the National Enquirer. Where are the photos? How about some video? If there was substantial evidence I am sure the story would get some coverage."

Well, LDW...now that there is reputable evidence...the "liberal media" is covering the story.

Here it is in print:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080808/ap_on_el_pr/edwards_affair

Even those commies at CNN are talking about it:

And on MSNBC:

p.s. I don't really care about the story (I shouldn't say that I do not care...it is really rotten of Edwards to cheat on his wife especially under the circumstances). What is more interesting to me is the fact that some people (not just you, LDW) believed that the "liberal media" was burying the story as a means to protect a possible vice-president candidate when in fact it appears that they were not reporting on it because the only source for the info was the National Enquirer.

naw the liberal media wouldn't bury a story for political/philosophical reasons, I doubt many are that principled.

They're more interested in the power trip of bringing a famous or important person down, and making big bucks and possibly becoming famous like bernstein and woodward.

in other words, they're just like anyone else, self-interested.

I disrespect them because self interest is hypocritical for leftists, but not for us greedy capitalists : )

Viva the National Enquirer! Apparently, they are the only media organization with sufficient reporting skills and knowledge of libel laws (plus a little intestinal fortitude) to know they were not going to get their pants sued off by running this story.

It is a sad indicator when the National Enquirer has more investigative skill than other media outlets...shouldn't they be reporting on the Batboy and his extra-marital affair with the world's heaviest woman?

you have to admit it was a funny scene in the movie "Men In Black" when they showed the Enquirer was really the only paper that had it right jaja

I wouldn't say it gets me high, dwmte7. Like i said, I don't really care about the story. But it does kinda piss me off when politicians pretend (publicly) to be moral, upstanding figures when in actuality many are far from it.

It does say something about his character and as such most be would feel that it is newsworthy; however, the things you mention are certainly more important. With respect to the Edwards situation, it depends how far they go with the story...If it is sensationalized and if they run it 24/7, then it becomes ridiculous...but I don't see much of a problem with them running a story or two on it. Knowing that he would cheat on his dying wife would have some influence on my feelings about his candidacy if he was ever chosen to run with Obama (I don't know if he was really ever seriously considered, but he definitely won't be now).

my point, cacique....all night, two nights ago, every news channel was harbinging about his trist in the hay with what's her face and was the baby his. ok. news. maybe a rerun on the next segment. here it is 5 days later and it goes on and on and on. so f...g what. he got laid, she had a baby, the wife is terminally ill and everyone's sad...but me. that's news to one family.

as for the life of politicians......shit! that's a glorious crowd. near every president that's ssat in that office has had 'gal friends'. so what. if that helps the guy/gal do their job, great. it's everybody else who makes someone's private life their business that screws everything up.

look at geingrich (sp) he hunted down clinton all the way to impeachment. then larry flynt offered $250,000.00 for info on any congressman or senator who lhad had affairs. well, the lover, of 20 years, of geingrich came forward. next thing we know, that fricken hypocrite resigns. i could care less if he was getting laid. but to take someone else to task for it, just sucks. "he who is without sin should cast the first stone." enow.

i can't say for sure, but you guys may be being played................when i read the story, i thought of gary condit and scott peterson. these two guys were shoved before the public to distract everyone from the invasion of afhganistan.

so you have john edwards, you've got this kid lost in florida, another guy named petersen where his last two wives mysteriously disappeared.

i don't have a crystal ball of course..........but it just makes me think of a set up for an attack on iran.

larry flynt had some very serious charges dropped as a result of his willingness to offer that $250 grand reward for dirt.
