THE way Richard Buttrose described cocaine use within his privileged eastern suburbs set, there was barely any difference between drinking wine and snorting a line.

''The circle of friends I mixed in, it's much like having a glass of wine and no one seems to think it's a problem,'' Buttrose told the District Court yesterday as his aunt, the media doyenne Ita Buttrose, looked on from the public gallery. ''I'm not saying this to justify what I did, but in that environment, you don't feel you're doing the wrong thing.''
