The UK Government has been impressively progressive for decades on this issue and is able to ignore the general populations' prejudice.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see a moslem prime minister just as there was a Jewish (DisRaeli) prime minister in the past.

Most british moslems are likely to be just as athiest as the general population (60% of Brits don't believe god exists).
