The Americans' Nuclear Fantasies

Yesterday, on the daily show John Bolton said:

There is not that much difference between me and the people who want a world where no government has nuclear weapons. I only want one government to have nuclear weapons.

He says the US should be the only country in the world with Nuclear weapons.

What are the chances this type of American comes to power in the future considering that when the US was the only country in the world with nuclear weapons they did not hesitate to use them?
