Surprise:Zogby Poll has Obama With 16 Point Lead In South Florida Over McCain

Surprise is because he is polling well amongst younger Miami Cuban Americans who in the past were counted solidly in the Republican Column pre-election! If Obama takes the Cuban Vote, its all over but the shouting,,,
In a sign that Democrat Barack Obama will be competitive in the nation's largest swing state, he is beating Republican John McCain comfortably in South Florida and has a slight edge among Hispanics, according to a new Miami Herald poll.

Obama is ahead 46-30 percent over McCain in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties in the survey of 807 people conducted by Zogby International. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

Obama has called for lifting the Bush administration's restrictions on Cuban-Americans who want to visit family on the island. McCain has criticized Obama for wanting to ease sanctions and for his willingness to meet with the Cuban government in the hope of sparking democratic reform.

''A lot of Cuban Americans are very disappointed with President Bush,'' Sanchez said. ``If McCain says he's going to follow the same policies as Bush, that says a lot.''

Not to forget, 3 South Florida Congressional Races are said to be in play this year. The Two seats held by the two Cuban-American Diaz Balart Brothers and the 3rd seat is held by Illeana Ros Lehtinen(cuban american) who is being challenged by Ms. Tancredo, a """"""Colombian American Business Woman""""". Obama's Rising tide could lift their Boats as many non cubans in Miami feel their Interests are NOT being represented as Non-Cubans. Maybe, Hopefully, the once rock solid Trilogy of the Diaz Balarts/Ros Lehtnen are showing signs of stress fractures,,,

I assume that you are implying that Obama's presidency will inspire the apocalypse; however, this shouldn't be a knock against him from the conservatives. The right-wing Christian fundamentalists have been dying to inspire such an event.
