The problem is that the Republicans throw out the odd "Jesus" and "Family Values" and the churchgoing sheep just eat it up.

What cracks me up is seeing some broke fool with a Fox News sticker on the back of his car. The janitor at my office keeps right wing talk radio on all day in his broom closet. The sad part is that he is half native American and half Mexican and doesn't seem to realize that these people would sooner put him in prison than invite him into their homes.

He gets in early and sets the kitchen TV to Fox News every morning. I change it to MSNBC and hide the remote just to fuck with him. I sent him that Daily Show clip from last night showing the Rove and the rest of the hypocrites contradicting themselves and he didn't know what to say.

CG...post it here again. I know it would seem redundant, but why not post it every time it is at all linked to the original post or a comment within a given post...I heard a conservative the other night at the convention say that it was necessary for a citizen to view a political ad six times before they understood it. I would not make that claim, but I find it interesting that he would belittle the very people that the ads are trying to attract. In any case, if he is right maybe it would be beneficial to post the Daily Show piece several more times. If nothing else, it is hilarious.

Palin Accuses 'Obama/Biden Democrats' of Attacking Her Family, But Campaign Can't Name One - September 04, 2008 8:05 PM

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin sent out a fundraising solicitation today that charged that "the Obama/Biden Democrats have been vicious in their attacks directed toward me, my family and John McCain."

I asked spokespeople of the McCain campaign and the Republican National Committee just which "Obama/Biden Democrats" they're referring to.

The response I got was that Obama spokesman Mark Bubriski erroneously attacked Palin as a supporter of Pat Buchanan.

That's it. That's the evidence.

An attack on Palin herself.

In other words, they can't name one person affiliated with the Obama-Biden campaign who attacked the Palin family.

But she made the charge anyway, to help raise money.

Incidentally, in 1998 Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz, told the following joke at a Republican fundraiser:

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?" McCain joked about the then-President's then-teenage daughter. "Because her father is Janet Reno."

''This is the bad boy,'' he told the New York Times' Maureen Dowd. "It was stupid and cruel and insensitive. I've apologized. I can't take it back. I could give you a whole bunch of excuses, but there are no excuses. I was wrong, but do you want me crucified? How many days does it need to be a story?'"

Now THAT is attacking someone's family!

“If you're gonna eat your crackers in bed, you're gonna have to sleep with crumbs."

No prob Lc. I very rarely post at night. PBH is mainly a distraction during the workday for me.

It definitely goes both ways. As usual, we have to pick from the lesser of two evils. It would be nice if this country had more than two viable political parties.

If the christian god is on George Bush's side, I think I'm going with any one of the thousands of other invisible superheroes in the sky that people make up to believe in. Better yet, I think I'll join the church of the Fonz.

Just once, I'd like to hear someone say that god is not on their side. It could be anyone. A president, a football coach, anyone.

What most superstitious fools fail to grasp is that no matter what invisible superhero in the sky they believe in, most of the world thinks they are wrong and are going to hell.

I have always had the same desire, CG. I always wanted to here some sports figure say something like "Hey, I gave it my all. I trained for over year. I poured my heart into the match and left everything on the court, but God totally fucked me over. He didn't pull his weight. What can I say, he was pathetic."

I also think its funny how someone like Sarah will believe that our sinful war is somehow blessed by God or that God is behind it. Well, if you believe such nonsense then you should also believe that God was behind the 9/11 attacks. Or do we just attribute God to the situations that are beneficial to our cause. Or how about that the religious right when they claim that God was responsible for natural disasters that killed innocents and ruined the lives of thousands simply because he wanted to punish a few homosexuals? Or how about God's role in ripping off the Native American's by way of the Christian Coalition, Ralph Reed, Jack Abramoff? I mean, God would not consider that a crime right? Devout Christian's following in their ancestor's footsteps by robbing those filthy savages certainly would carry the blessing of Christ our Lord. In fact, the colonists reasoned that God was a fan of their team, holding up the annihilation of the Natives as proof that this was indeed so (what a perverse interpretation of the bible). God and religion are not just a dangerous weapon utilized by "those" people, they are a dangerous weapon utilized by sinful individuals right here all of the time.
