New York to me was interesting, overwhelming, impressive but NOT beautiful , i prefer European cities, but saying that it's a place I MUST recommended to everyone to go before they die.

The hotel was nice but i was very disappointed with my room, for an expensive hotel the room was just as well as staying in a travelodge here in the UK, and the buildings surrounding it were so high they blocked most of the light in my room, i was in the dark 24/7 I needed to get out of there as soon as possible!!

I went to the national library and I loved it, we went to the top floor of the empire state building, the statue of liberty, blomindales (sp), macys, Time square, central park, eso si camine mas que un secuestrado!!

grand central station it' s also very impressive lots of restaurants and shops there. I went to Chinatown and little Italy and we had dinner there and it was one of the quiets Italian Restaurants I have been, usually in all the countries i have been the Italian restaurant are notorious for its noisy waiters but this Italians were very quiet :(( Met Plato, very nice and clever guy and we went to Little Brazil to a nice Brazilian restaurant called Via Brazil for Lunch, and at night I went to eat sushi at the sushi yumada restaurant which is near the hotel.

Life in New York seem to go very fast, people doesn't seem to have souls, they looks very depressed they hardly smile.. although i found out some friendly people many seem not to have any life left in them, you go to restaurants or shop and they look feed up with everything.... Men in NY seem to be more daring that Europeans, i had some piropos jaja including one from a gorgeous security guard on the way to see the Statue of Liberty...

One thing i never going to get used to in America is that tip culture, i think it's too much and everybody expect a tip, i told my husband next time we have to bring a tip wallet.


I would love to go back and bring the kids, I am pretty sure they would love the city, it is impressive and i wouldn't mind to go back again, but i would never live there.


BTW I love the cafe that was opposite the hotel, it was call central cafe, the coffee there was perfect, and you get a free refill :))))


BTW NY (JFK) airport changed since last time I was there on my way to Orlando, this time it was more efficient and friendly.

I was working out of London for about 3 weeks or so a couple of months ago, I remember I would get back late to the hotel room every night after work and I would hop blast salsa music on my laptop while I hopped in the shower, I just needed that music to play.

I think both NYC'ers and Londoners tend to have these grave look on their faces, the difference is that Londoners are far more proper and polite, they will never just give their anger free reign, they tend to have more of a sarcastic, dark piercing humor to deal with life. London is amazing, very regal, basking in its glory of old, you can breathe history in every corner. It is very diverse indeed, but I found most of the immigrants there were indian, pakistani, middle eastern or eastern european.. and some africans.

NYC'er on the other hand are more loud and boisterious, you can breathe the latin/caribbean ambience no matter where you go. New Yorkers are more curt and in your face, but you are more likely to strike up a conversation with people you encounter on the streets than you are in london. The men are very aggressive, if you are a girl walking around alone you will get hit on a LOT.

Miami is nowhere near as diverse as toronto. Miami has MORE foreign born inhabitants, but they are mostly latin americans. I have been to Miami, nyc, london, paris in the past 4 months and I tell you, none of these cities seem more diverse than toronto.

the guy in the cubicle to my right is from Hong Kong
the guy directly behind my cubicle is from Thailand
The guy diagonal from me is from Guyana
The guy that sits besidethe Guyanese guy is from Afghanistan
Teh guy in the office across my cubicle is from Trinidad and Tobago and the guy in the office besdie his is from Vietnam. These are just the people immediately around me. If I walk further down the office, there are 5 chinese, 2 peruvians, 1 guatemalan, 1 russian, 1 ukranian, 2 pakistanis, 3 indians and a Jamaican. About 6 white people and then me, la colombiana.
