I went to Idaho and had myself some pretty scary adventures. Nearly got mowed down by a monster truck, complete with a gun rack and two crazy yokels howling out the windows at my city folk attire.

The highlight was hitting a small town bar. I had bleached blond hair at the time, wearing a lime green cowboy shirt and I was with a guy and a girl that were dressed similar to me. The whole place went silent when we entered. Literally. It totally freaked me out. Got ourselves some drinks, sat down, and tried to ignore the glares. A partially-toothed girl was doing karaoke and she came to are table to beg us to do some songs...i flipped through the song book and I asked her to sing some Patsy Cline. The whole atmosphere flipped, everyone was buying us drinks. Moved over closer to our table and rapped with us...by the end of the night the girl was singing Duran Duran songs and 99 luft balloons...totally bizarre.

This girl could not afford such luxuries, not even Lee Press-on Nails. We are talking about real hard times in this bar. It felt like it was going to be a life-threatening experience; however, it turned into a great party.

Those photos are great, kitty!

I remember there was a dairy just outside of Boise that supposedly made flavored milk (i.e. Root Beer, Orange, etc) that you did not have to refrigerate...I stuck to the booze on my trip!

How about all of the religious road signs all over the place...

I love the pic of Hell's Canyon. Here is one of Wallowa Lake. It's up in the same neighborhood (NE corner of Oregon). My parent's used to ask me every summer if I'd like to go to Disneyland or Wallowa Lake...I always chose Wallowa Lake.

Sorry Lcac - misread your comment about the bleached blond hair (oops!). Yes...It is breath taking up here. Then you are familiar with the Native American Tribes up here. (As I recall they also had wild Buffalo in that area about 15 or so years ago, not sure if that is the case now.)

I am a person that gives heavy eye contact, not culturally exceptable with the these folks. My idea of trying to say hello and connect could be considered offensive. But I had a 1/2 breed NezPrc with me and he helped me get through my business.

Anyhooo...I am not in the Bayou, but I'm having fun in the North ;)
