OIL at 37 dollars per barrel

Airfare should drop like a turd in a well. I wonder what other effects it will have in the Colombian/Gringo world?

Airlines have still NOT dropped their fuel surcharges? or Not? im no sure.. I dont think it going to have ANY effect on the Colombian gringo unless that somehow translates into a strong dollar vs peso issues BUT it will mess up Venezuela and in turn will disrupt Venezuela/Colombia trading.. which might connect to a weakening peso vs dollar issues?

I had to go to the bathroom last night and stubbed my foot and somehow it was George Bush's fault. Think again.

As an American, I wish that we could get the American people to take a mandatory coourse on American history from about 1865 until the present. The period from 1919 to 2008 especially.

Oil is dropping because of something we call the Free Market. Supply and demand. Less spending. Unemployment. Fear.

Starting in about 1975, American companies decided that it would be cheaper to pay a guy in a third world country to produce a product. Also, the environmentalists (Democrat Party) decided that putting smoke in the air and water was not a good thing. Lawyers got onboard smelling money. So American companies not only closed the plant to pay the Chinaman cheaper but to pollute there too. Then Regan signed the CBI. Then Clinton signed NAFTA. Then lots of money (fake wealth on paper!) for real estate and in 30 or 40 years a producer nation that made 400,000 airplanes during world war two cannot make anything but paper and lawyers.

So the party is over and the nation is hungover and the world is being dragged into the thing. General Motors out of business? Unthinkable and who is the largest employer in the United Sttates today? Wal-mart..average salary at Wal-Mart? $17,000 It used to be GM and the wages paid at GM were good enough to buy a house and put your kiddies through college.

Blame Bush? Convenient is it not? Think again and go back to when Jimmy Carter gave the canal away. Look at the rise and fall of England as a major power from 1700 to 1948. The history of George Bush is 8 years. You need to go back a lot further to understand why things are the way they are.

BTW Bush's biggest failure? Failure to secure the southern border and allowing 30 million people into the United States who have no business being here!

Airfares should drop with a drop in oil prices but the flip side is demand for the ticket. The airlines will do better with lower fuel costs but if nobody has any money or desire to fly then the prices may stay stable. Both of these factors should start some price wars in the near future but the airlines have lost lots of money the last several years so who knows how inclined they will be to reduce fares? Fares should drop if the planes are going out with lots of empty seats...or, they will just reduce more capacity.

And lets face it, Bush, Chavez, and Uribe are like women. If you stand them on their heads they all look like sisters.

==================================================================

Residents in Latin America let themslves be SHORTCHANGED by Locos and have no one to blame but themselves! Case in Point--look at Nicaragua--20 years ago they kicked out Ortega now he was recently President re-elected after re-inventing himself on the outside!! He fooled the people twice and now he is courting Russia, Iran ect. Cuba has had Castro for 40 years because they all ran off to Miami instead of staying and revolting and taking back their country. These countries you refer to to get the kind of leader they deserve,,,

............WHEN? Will the price of a barrel of oil return to $140-$150 a barrel?

The first guy today said: THE SECOND HALF OF 2009.
