A march against Chavez... what a joke...
So Chavez was legally elected by Venezuelan people with a big margin and you march against him... where and for what?
Do we want a war?

Are you serious, if you read the news or listen to it, it's because Chavez wants to intervene in Colombian affairs, if he intervene in just Venezuelan affairs who cares about that monkey.

Again like always the root of this problem South American is facing is the interference of the USA in internal affairs of other countries. The world power elite already has it in the agenda to get rid of Chavez and take over the oil fields of Venezuela, its just a matter of time, Colombia needs to give away it natural resources and be indebted to the world bank, the wheels are already in motion, so after all Chavez could be right by saying......The winds of war are Blowing.

All truth goes through three phases. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self evident.

Some of you maybe are right in saying that Colombia needs to mind its business...but you got to admit that Chavez is crazy. He has started to condemn everythig from Golf to drinking to whatever else he can. You cut a problem like that at the root..you cannot let it grow.

Also the whole voting thing was tricky. He promised all the poor people in Ven. cars, houses, jobs and delivered nothing. The people are so poor and uneducated that they were easily mislead.

Question. I know we hear all the stupid chit and crap that Chavez does each freakin day. However, I wonder if we are all getting our information/news from the same source? The right wing. I know that from the 26.8Million of Venezolanos which about more than 50% voted for him are not crazy enough to vote for a man that is considered by the right extremist as an anticrist. I do not agree with the way he carries himself as a head of state, but are there positive things that he has done? Anyone?

For example, Evo Morales called el "Indio", by some uneducated/racist/seperatist Bolivians always attack him for benefiting the majority of Bolivia's 60% of indiginous people. Now the one's that attack him are so called EU descendants of which are part of the Elite. Now, in the almost 200 years Bolivia has been a republic what have these people done for the indiginous population other than slave them, not recognize their rights and treat them as second class persons? Now, things have changed in a struggle that has been going on since the spanish conquered. Evo Morales has increased the capital of money that comes in by selling commodities and not given it away as the old goverments did. Now, in my view this is something good for that country and in the new constitution of Bolivia he given them equal rights. I wonder what has Chavez done to have been in power as of February 2, 1999.

Brians, I find that you might be a little be mis informed about the standard of live dropping for the people? What people are you talking about? Poor, Middle Class, Rich? Yes, Evo has taken land away, but imagine some one owning 1/4 of Medellin and no legit titles being presented or people that claim that they were militarily taken out by force because of some elites interest? All Evo has done is given them back what was theirs to begin with and limited the amount of land a person can have. However, if the land is producing you need not to worry. Evo's struggle is much more depper than people might now with all the injustice that the indiginous people have suffered since the conquest from the spanish. Might want to pick up a book or travel there and get better informed.

I think Bolivia is a special case, one that can´t be compared to Venezuela. I think I do remember reading recently that corruption has risen 200% since Evo Morales was voted in.

Anyway, anyone who critices Evo Morales should really go there and see how happy the people are... the majority that is, not the people in Sucre. It´s as if they´ve finally found their voice and are ready to use it and stand up for their rights.

I was in Venezuela during the last elections, and believe me, the margin was not so large. Only 65% of voters turned out, and it was 55% vs 45%. In addition, all the government employess (the majority oof the workers) were orced (against thir will) to go to"Si" (Pro Chavez) rallies. where they were indoncrinated, and subliminiously led to believe that the government knew how they were voting, and of course, their jobs depended on it. Extreme mas psychological pressure.

I have met several hundred "humilde" colombians, and what you say is gebnerally, very, very true.

Also, I have met several middle class and even poor (allthough educated) Venezuelanos, and I wold say that amongst a very large proportion of the population there, Chavez is even less popular than in Colombia.

Evo Morales is a dick and a Chavez lackey. He tried to make it so he could remain presidente for ever basically just as Chavez did. If they were both in power I think that eventually they would bleed over into Paraguay and take it over, making one large Socialist state from Venezuala to Bolivia. Thinking ahead and seeing that they are outnumbered greatly Colombia has a real reason to be concerend as does the rest of South America. If you take Paraguay and Bolivia you have huge numbers of poor, undereducated and easily influenced people living in those rural regions..easy pickings for Chavez / Morales regime.

NIN - The whole thing about Indio vs. Europeans is a bit unclear the way you put it. Yes of course in Bolivia you do have some 100% European blooded Bolivians who have been there for a long time, however most of the time the ones that are bieng called "Euros" are really just slightly more Euro than a full blooded Incan. So you have a Mestizo and a 100% pure Indian. Evo backs the Indians blindly and forgets the other people who are real Bolivians as well. Just because their grandfather was Spanish or German doesn't make them less Bolivian. Just because they are educated and own property doesn't make them less Bolivian and it certainly doesnt mean that they deserve to have their property pulled away from them simply because Evo Morales has some twisted view about returning Bolivia back to the "people"..what people are they talking about?

1. He tried to make it so he could remain presidente for ever basically just as Chavez did - Huh, then what about Uribe going for another term using a referendum? Isn't the same as Chavez using democracy to stay in power for as long as he can? Why is that any different than Chavez? Because he is from the center right?

2. If they were both in power I think that eventually they would bleed over into Paraguay and take it over, making one large Socialist state from Venezuala to Bolivia. - Do you know who the actual presiden of Paraguay is? His name is Fernando Lugo and hate to break the news to you but he was a religious figure and he is a socialist.

Anyhow, I don't have time at the moment to touch on all your points, but why don't check your facts before wrinting at least on the 2 points above. That way at least you'll be better informed next time.

Now there's a ringing endorsement, as we all know how well religion in government has turned out throughout history, not to mention those stellar socialist states like Cuba and North Korea. Having made that disclaimer, Lugo doesn't seem like a bad sort (at least not yet).

That's why those Paradigms of XX & XXI century socialism and their families, like The Castro Brothers, the Chavez family, The Ortega pedophile brothers and their ilk live like the most degenerate capitalists (the only difference being that the capitalist does it with his own money) you could ever have your misfortune to meet, all they while their people suffer.
