MALICIOUS WEBSITE HACKING - FBI INVESTIGATION

San Francisco - Hackers recently infiltrated the Epilepsy Foundation's Web site.

The hacker's posts contained hundreds of pictures and links masquerading as "helpful" to site visitors, only to be sent to pages exploding with rapidly flashing pulsating images. Triggering severe migraines and near seizure reactions to site visitors, with intent to cause physical pain on their victims.

"They were out to create Seizures", commented Senior Director of Web and Print Publishing for the foundation.

This same exploitation of a simple coding vulnerability Sen. Barack Obama's Web Site in addition to an episode earlier this year to malicious coding sent to disable the software used to read text aloud for blind and visually impaired.

This is cruel...

So PBHers....what do you think is a Hacker's WORST Nightmare :)

ooops! ....Did I say that?

By the way....this attack occured over Easter Weekend

Low Class, eh?

I guest they (hackers) would said the worst nigthmare will be to be hacked, and paranoid people blaming them of all their mistakes, leaving real culprits at large.

But, I'm going to start making some assumptions here.... Which means I might actually end up making an ass out of myself ..........Thu 04 17, 2008 11:34 am

jaja...true! (getting counter- hacked).

Being blamed? Well, blame is one thing Naahhh- proof is another. There are ways to determine who is really doing what. If someone is blamed for something? The blamer is not putting much energy into anything but drama.

Example: You know....back in the late 70's there was a time when marijuana growers (mostly home grown) were getting robbed so much, they intentionally sprayed their plants with a toxic substance. The Theives's would sell it and many people ended up in the hospital sick (sad huh?). But they were able to track who stole the stuff and it also deterred theives from stealing from small time home growers. Of course all is illegal now...but it would be great to do something like this to malicious hackers that intentionally harm helpless people that are just trying to live their life - eh?

BTW - don't get me wrong on this...for clarification..Wozniack was a hacker, but he used it for "good". There are times when the intelligence of a "white hat hacker" is very helpful etc... My issue is with people that intentionally harm others. Cowards - harming the blind and people with epilepsy. These people are psychologically unsound and a menace and a danger to society.
They should be possibly fined, imprisioned AND banned from any access to the internet or people that have the internet for up to 10 times the time they spend in prision. Maybe have them wear a device ...hmmmm maybe a good hacker can come up with the configuration of this one.

hmmmm...pissed off about hacking, are we, CG? ;)

Before you throw me out, make sure I pay my bar tab

CatGirl says on May 9, 14:30:

Slygy: Actually I have just been more vigilant of cyberstuff than usual as a safety measure.

What pi**ed me off was who they did this to. Any person who intentionally lures innocent people with an intent to create physical harm needs to be removed from the general population and receive serious rehabilitation or......

We are seeing more of this malicious stuff from the internet and it is becoming a serious problem since the world is focusing more on internet communications and information. Watch as this unfolds ;))

ooops! ....Did I say that?

CatGirl says on May 9, 16:53:

Addendum: One such malicious problem is that some cardiac pacemakers can be affected by malicious hackers...did you know that?

ooops! ....Did I say that?

They should be thrown into prison.

The worst thing is, when a hacker starts causing lots of problems for high level secure sites, he get´s a name for himself, he might get a slapped wrist or maybe go to jail for a spell, but afterwards there will be lots of companies or even the goverment that will offer these guys obscene amounts of money to work with them.

Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use.
