"Jeffs" Polygamists Sect Members in Canada Receive Pressure

Lister BC:
edited version

What picture dons upon the educational walls of fame of Bountiful Elementry School? Elected Officials? Positive Role Models?

No. A smiling photo of Warren Jeffs - the Leader of the Fundamentalist LDS - currently spending time in a Utah Prison convicted of being an accomplice to rape.

The School Rules posted " Obey sweetly and promptly"

Bountiful, North of the US Border are split with residents that follow the Jeff's and formerly excommunicated Bishop Winston Blakmore.
They have reason to worry - as polygamy is illegal in Canada as it is in the USA

British Colombia Attorney General Wally Oppal told AP he plans to arrest or ask the courts to weigh in on Bountiful's Elementray School's legal standing with in this month

This has been in the news a lot. The Canadian courts have thus defended it, but I don't think I really agree with them. Many of the children brought into custody in the US allegedly had ties to Bountiful.

this whole polygamy thing is baffliing to me. one wife at a time was too much for me, apparently. ;)

kidding aside - if there was some way to assure that kids were protected from these lecherous old bastards, i'd say leave them alone. it's these child "marriages" that enrage me.

Well, as it has been explained to me the idea (the cult idea ja!) is "It's all about the numbers" and how many people you can save as Mormons...through the eyes of LDS.
So lots o' kids and make sure everyone dies Mormon.

I also learned that if you are Mormon (non fundamentalist) and you have dead family members that did not die as Mormons, they actually have a ritual they do that is quite complicated (and in my opinion disrespectful of others beliefs) where you go back into your roots and anoint the dead as Mormons so to speak.
I questioned this practice (of course! cause kitty is curious) and ironically found that many times it isnt even conducted by an actual blood relative. So I pointed out to the poor guy who told me he was asked to perform a multitude of these rituals on dead non Mormons that he did not even know - nor their family members - does not even make sense "spiritually" - let alone ethically. He agreed - but he said he was fairly young and afraid to question them

I suppose so. One numbers question I never got, if 144.000 Jehovah's Witnesses are saved, and there are more than 144,000 Jehovah's witnesses, who gets to go? You really want to inherit this Earth after Rubito's done with it?

jajajaja.....BTW if you ever get a chance? Ask A jehovahs witness this again - I think they did some recent alterations to some of their beliefs. I even think they changed the number. Either way, i know they change the year (was supposed to be at the turn of the Century, tick, tick) ;)

jajaja...slygy! good humor.

Yeah the Jeh Wit are quite interesting folks but their ability to hold onto and control their members is not as strong as Mormons.

I lost a good gf to the Jehovah's Wtnesses ;((. She was your average wild gal until they got hold of her. Then she tried to convert me by having me meet up with her and one of her elders, who went on and on about their beliefs and how I had better get ready (long time ago). There was one thing that made absolutely no sense to me that pretty much turned me off (in addition to the compartmentaizing)...her sponsor said that everyone that has died already up to the date of the "Big Judgement" is forgiven - period - simply because they died before the big day (I guess the chosen ones) etc... I asked "Even molesters, liars, murderers etc..?" She said "yes" I said "well, heck - then you might as well commit sucide then you are guaranteed a spot" she said "Oh - no! you can't do that, that's a sin!" ...Hmmm I querried 'So what about the folks that committed suicide in the past?" ...she sad 'Oh that's different, they are forgiven"......hmmmmm
So my gf called me the next day and asked me what I thought of the meeting and the message... she dropped the bomb and asked if I would join. I pretty much told her no and that I could not believe she could rationalize the crazy explanations. She told me since I would not convert - she could not longer see me ;((( Sad.
