IS IT THE END OF THE INTERNET?

Saw an interview the other day where the Editor or Writer (??) of PC magazine states that at the rate we are going we will run out of IP addresses in 3 years or less.

The comment of the interviewer was that we had this issue with Telephone area codes and solved it.

Does anyone think this is going to be a problem? Or just something people are going to work up until the anticlimax?

I work in that industry as a professional and even my eyes glaze over when I read that page.

This skimmed from the article is all you need to know about IPv6 versus the present addressing system which is called IPv4:

"In a different perspective, this is 252 addresses for every star in the known universe[2] – more than ten billion billion billion times as many addresses as IPv4 supported."
