Hi all... I am back (or at least trying to)

I have been reading your beautiful words in the post I wrote regarding my father's death...

I cannot find the right words to express my gratitude... thanks INDEED to each and all of you...

Things have not been easy for me and to be honest with you I am going through one of the hardest moments in my life, now I am back trying to begin a new life...

So... I'm back

Glad you're back, gabolicious! There's no real time-line for grieving - that's all pop psychology. You'll always think of your father during special moments, wishing he was there. He sounds like the kind of person who lived his life to the fullest. Seems he would want you to do that as well, and not get stuck in the despair of missing him.

I feel better! I can smile at it now, I feel better. Ohhhh, better! Gnarls Barkley

gabo...i dont' know you, but i was deeply moved by your post about your father and for that i made a comment, as i lost both of my elderly parents a month apart this last year and was deep into those blues you know so well. in fact the day i posted, i had stopped by the cemetary just to sit there with dad and...what? cry? or more? i really can't remember, so much transpires in the heart and mind when i go there...i don't know how it is for others but i believe it's proufoundly deep and painful.

glad you've got your heart a little bit above the obvious pain that comes with the loss of one's parents.

Gabo,

I never really got the opportunity to express my sadness over your loss. I know that there is nothing that I can do, but I hope you realize that I, as well as many others that have already expressed the same sentiment, am here for you. You are in my thoughts. We barely know each other; however, your kind words and positive enthusiasm made me instantly consider you as a friendly soul out here in the vastness of cyberspace. While some people claim that time heals all wounds, I personally am not so sure. Nevertheless, I hope that it will be true for you.

I believe it was Frida, the patron saint of Mexico, that said "I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim." Personally, I have suffered the same tragedy as Frida, but I've grown accustomed to swimming with them.

I've noticed that you continually write that you do not know what to say at the moment...I know how you feel, and I think everyone here does. Don't feel that it is necessary to apologize.

Most importantly, I'm glad to see you around here as I've missed you.

hey guys your words have been very helpful... beautiful words... you will have a friend in here: ME....

Though I am really concerned about my mother's "state of mind" I needed fresh air to keep on walking... thanks indeed for your support....

I was thinking the other day... I phoned "de pronto"... we talked about an hour I told her the way I felt... I asked her how was her trip to Bogota, she did not want to tell me how it was because she said: "I respect the way you feel, we'll talk about my trip some other day".

But finally I was able to learn that her best friend is pregnant, and the happinness she felt over such a wonderful new coming... I thought for a moment and as the song goes: "unos que vienen y otros moriran" that is life... that is life... though some other aspects of my life are not the best I am glad to be alive and I will stand up and continue walking....up-hill if necessary....

Thank you all

brothers, all, i'll never tell................just enjoy.

and as well, to all, it's a fricken, wretched truth, noone gets outta here alive....prepare yourselves for these painful horizons. i have buried two of my sons and sharing this pain at this moment of sharing with you and gabo, brings me to my knees and reduces me to tears.

our children are supposed to bury us, we're not supposed to bury them. at least that's how my thinking goes.
