HEALTH CARE.......SIMPLE........EVERY CITIZEN COVERED......ONE INSURER

HEALTH CARE IT'S SIMPLE EVERY CITIZEN COVERED ONE INSURER
Dosen't get any simpler than that folks.
Thats the only way to fly.
Works in all the free world but USA.
Time has come to get with it and get it done.
All these other mumbo jumbo plans don't work and never will.
Try it and you'll love it.

Mus be Obamanaldo talking here.

How 'bout we just go back to "Fee For Service".
No Insurance.
That would quickly bring down the cost of sick care (what you call health care).
Everything out of pocket.

How 'bout ONE GASOLINE COMPANY??

What will gas cost then, in about a year?

Same answer.

And there going bankrupt with rationing in every country doing it that way. In Canada they hold a lottery to see who the luck ones that will get a doctor. And the USA has the best cancer survival rates.. So go ahead and head to one of those countries if you have cancer.. I will stay here for the best treatment in the world.
Oh... and what is it that the government runs so efficiently with no corruption? SS? Medicare? Medicate? USPS? Hell they run those so well why not let them run everything?

I'm with GS, fee for service, it works for me every time I use it. We have a great public health service in this country, nearly every county and city have medical services that are available to all people and the fee for service is based on a sliding income scale. The poor pay nothing and middle class guys like me pay something when I go there. In another post I wrote that I paid $13.00 for a tetanus booster recently, that's a six pack of beer and a pack of cigarettes. I figure it would have cost over a hundred dollars to do that even at a private walk in clinic. It's usually about $90.00 for the visit at a walk in around here, plus the actual services. While I was at the public health service immunization clinic I asked about a yellow fever shot just in case I wanted to go to the tropics in Colombia later. They don't give yellow fever shots, but told me where to go for the best price in town, the local medical school is certified give yellow fever shots for the unbelievable price of $20.00.

The government getting in the business of making medical insurance available to the indigent through Medicaid and for the elderly through Medicare is one of the reasons we're where we are today. Though I don't disagree with these programs in principle, the poor and elderly will always need our help. These programs have had a direct effect over the past 40 years of driving the cost of medical services up and up and up. WHY? Because there is one payer and some crooked billing going on out there.

I miss the wonderful sound of silver coins in my pocket, abolish the Federal Reserve and bring back real money.

Interesting moment today, in an insurance office.
Now,... with my kids' driving record, I'd have been a fool, not to have auto insurance, but as I stated earlier today in another thread, I wish I had ALL THE $$$ I've spent in the past 25 years on all the other insurances.

Now, there I was, in the office of an Insurance agent,... the owner talking to me, since State Farm dropped not only my kids, but me (due to their sterling driving record, not mine... hell no! I drive like juan pablo montoya!.... So, I'm buying auto insurance and .....
......
.....the guy offers to compare prices on all my insurances, and he asks: "With whom do you have your health insurance?"
.....to which I reply:
....."I don't have health insurance. I know how my body works, and I take care of it and I've only been to a medical guy about 5 times in the last 30 years"
.....To which he retorts: "But, what is something really bad happens?"

..... To which I reply: "Dude, when I was FIVE YEARS OLD, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease (Cancer of the Lymph System,....1950's) and the Medical guys gave me only six months to live." Furthermore, I said... "It's a long story, but let me make it short. My parents threw me in the car and drove half way across country from Illinois to South Carolina for the next Oral Roberts healing crusade, and after I went through the prayer line, that night, everything began to get better and better and ......

....... I've only been to a medical guy about five times in the last thirty freakin years."

TO WHICH HE REPLIES: "YEAH! BUT WHAT IF SOMETHING REALLY BAD HAPPENS?"
__________________________

How fokn bad can it get??????????????????????
They didn't have insurance back then.... to my knowledge, and if so, my parents were too fkn poor to buy it, even if it only cost a dime.

there is simply no excuse that poorer countries, such as Colombia, have universal, and from what I have seen, pretty solid, health care, and we, in the US, do not provide that to our citizens. I believe in the free enterprise system, but when it comes to the basic health care needs of all of our citizens, that should be excluded from the capitalist system of business. Also, I am beginning to believe that racism is creeping into these arguments against reform.

all this nonsense about having to wait for surgeries, etc., that is all for the prized few rich people, and it is costing the regular people, the other 98% way too much heartache. The rich can afford private insurance in any country, so why can they not allow everyone else basic decent healthcare? It's no threat to them. This is all about greed. We already have medicare, free care for all over 65, and I have never heard anyone complain about receiving that, once they are over 65. That is what they have for everyone, everywhere else.

Dawg, if they 'regulated' medicare the way it should be regulated (towards medical people)....
So far, by my experience, it's not.
people come in, bringing these packets of 20 or 30 x-rays,....for one problem
Ridiculous, in any case.
Their taking all these film, because they know medicare is only going to pay for half of them.
That's abuse.
Shut down the abuse.
The medical guys will be fleeing the system left and right.
I guarantee.
They're spoiled, arrogant, sometimes mindless, and greedy.
People - the general public - have NO IDEA.... the overhead expenses to maintain and make a profit in the health care industry.

one of the most underated ways of achieving good health goes beyond all of the doctor visits, all of the diet and exercise changes, etc.. That way is to make a decision that one is going to be healthy, one is going to enjoy life, and have naturally good health, without trying. That way, I believe, is about being more light hearted, regardless of what happens. It's about not sweating the small stuff, about letting things go, easily, naturally, as a child does, after a tantrum or 2. It's about enjoyng life, and not fighting it.

it's about allowing yourself, and others, to be as you and they choose to be. We're all going to die, so we are not going to solve that one little problem, so we should accept that, and take things by the smooth handle, and stop trying to control, seek security andor control everything. It's about allowing ourselves and others to be whatever we or they want to be. It's about having fun, feeling good, nothing more, nothing less. That is my warped opinion, anyway. Lil' Jimmy Carter and I tend to agree on those attacks by the extreme right as being at least somewhat rascist. Obama does not seem to agree with us on this, but then again, he is a statesman. I think he is doing a whale of a job. Can you imagine having to defend all of these constant attacks, and remain civil and practical in trying to make decisions that are best for the country, and the world, every day?

Yes the president is a statesman, thus, why he is called the president.
More importantly, do the rajin cajuns have a prayer tomorrow, against LSU?
Clemsn plays Boston College, en casa, in a must win game. Then again, next week's game is a must win, as well. That is what is great about college football, that the teams only play 12 games, and if they lose more than 2, or sometimes even 1, they are not playing in a bowl game that means anything except to the sponsors.

Obama is being a statesman but he has to fight so many battles, fighting for so many necessary changes, that sometimes he appears to be not so much so, but overall, he seems to remain so. Isn't it great to see someone so young and active in the White House again? Good energy, no?

Both grew up in Baton Rouge.
One went to UL.
The other... half way through LSU.
They both know, just like I know..... LSU can't afford to even let UL play close.
And, the difference in the quality of the athlete (even though the cajuns beat Kansas State last weekend, and could likely give Clemson tigers a good game....jajaja!).....

.......you know the rest of the story:

LSU 47.
Cajuns 9.

no.
I couldn't care less.
There's just as many Lsu alumni here as UL.
me? neither.
But, I understand, and so do the Cajun alumni: NOT A CHANCE IN HELL.
The Lsu players would likely be 'threatened' if that happened.
AND, THEY KNOW IT.
The tigers will be a little nervous.
UL will score first.
And, then no more.
they get the 9 with some luck, maybe a late fieldgoal,.... later, after they blow the extra pt after the early touchdown.
Tigers shake the jitters and THEN CRUISE.
