Hadaway and shite

Tired of the cheap, quick hop to Paris, Prague or Venice? Why not spend your hard earned money and valuable time by taking a holiday in Gateshead instead?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/article-1195546/Enjoy-England-A-day-...

I don't know if the name will mean much to the non-British members of the site, but it's something like suggesting you spend your vacation in Flint or Detroit.

Doug. You might want to ask Kernow62, he's something of an expert on these ancient British monuments and such. He was mentioning the find of the outlines of a neolithic village , some of it on their own property in Cornwall (Kernow) a while back.

"The Rollright Stones are a complex of megalithic oolitic limestone monuments near the villages of Long Compton, Great Rollright and Little Rollright in England, lying across the present county border between the counties of Oxfordshire and Warwickshire....."

Pieman, you are right about all that history, it was my favorite part of living there (that and the ladies of course)

"All I want to know is where I'm going to die, so I never go there" Unkown (at least to me) wise man.

How yea! Kalder! Haad ya gob and leave off Gateshead, man!
Birthplace of such illustrious Brits as Gazza, .....and ..... nearly me, but me mam n da mooved 3 miles farther sooth te Washington.

If you´re looking for stone circles you can´t miss out the village of Avebury, Wiltshire. The entire village is built within a huge stone circle and earthworks. Look for the hippies hugging the stones, or go on a solstice or equinox and watch the Druids and Pagans enjoying themselves.

Leave the big stick at home...carry a cannon!
