Well... needless to say, it is all a bit overwhelming for everyone, but the over all attitude is good for everyone.
They were 'detained' in 'immigration' in Miami, for four hours, and so missed their connecting flight to Houston, where Hg and I were waiting... Houstongal has been a huge help! Mi Ayudante Rica! So, they finally got the late flight out of Miami, and arrived in Houston for 11 pm. Todos con muy feliz! We returned to Hg's house for a bite to eat (Hg being a most wonderful cook!.. and a great hostess, as well.) Finally, we all arrived in Lafayette Friday.... where... Billyb met up with us for the Festival International.. muchas musica...y, comer, y artistas... Yesterday was a full day of roaming the streets of old downtown Lafayette for the Festival... where you see many friends, maybe you haven't seen forever, you know. And, MANY PEOPLE there, looking for us... and Seeing Mi Colombianita and calling her by name, before they were introduced, has made her feel 'Welcomed Ahead of Time'... (comprende?)
Many of my best friends found us, to introduce themselves to her and her boys, and so... so far.... so good. We just showed her .. the biggest shopping mall in town... (como Chipe Chappe... jaja) and she is cooking almuerza as I write. My kids, 17 and 18, 1 boy and girl, and her boys all have been very easy to accept the others and her. Some very good things I see already happening, where there were deficits before. I can only pray it all continues. As for now, as I said... a bit overwhelming... But, very happy! It's all good.

I mentioned a few other things to GS that I was suprised he had not already set up or organized before his new Love arrived. In fact, they were very important things..So I am definitely not suprised at this comment. GS is lucky, not all women can cook. I know 2 Colombianas that burn everything they touch.
I don;t think GS is a details guy in certain areas, so I suggested he let his New Love handle the organizing ;)

GS is lucky to have such a great family. They're all great people. The kids are so polite. They were so tired when they arrived and yet they never complained. I'm sure they'll adjust well to their new life. They're already keeping busy and will change GS's life upside down! I'm glad I was able to help them out. What are friends for??

I didn't see the thread until now Gail, but congrats! I went through (she did) the 4 hour detainment after arrival in Houston. It was 2 hours, but we would have missed our connecting flight if it weren't for a plane break-down. The "interview" was hilarious. The interviewer couldn't even speak English fluently. I think she was Korean. She didn't know more than 3 words of Spanish either. So, it was 115 minutes of waiting in a detainment room, after 2 hours in a line, to talk 5 minutes with an officer who spoke English as a second language and didn't know any Spanish. Unbelievable. But, we all have a funny story to tell 20 years down the road.
