I don't know you but I'm sorry to hear that. I've lost a few family members and know how it feels. May she rest in peace in God's company.

Oh man that's terrible. There's nothing easy about *A* death in the family, never mind a few of them close together.

I can say I know what you're going through, as we had a spate not too long ago where family seemed to go in bunches. As you know there are no words which soothe it, but I found what helped me was remembering the times we shared and the "goofy" family stuff we did together. Such as recalling my aunt always trying to cheat at gin rummy, my uncle always jokingly trying to sneak sweets (he was diabetic), and my cousin's rapacious appetite for any woman within a 10,000 mile radius. Or the jokes we made my best friend endure regarding his uncanny resemblance to Marky Mark back before dude was Mark whatever the hell he is now. Haha, poor guy: The response to any good joke he ever made was usually "feel the vibration, come on, come on" (hoping you know those were the lyrics to a MM song).

It's true that none of us get out alive, but we mostly "get out" with some pretty good friendships and some good memories. Try your best to focus on the good memories and not dwell on the loss, as "easy" as that is to say.

Douglas, I am also very sorry to hear of your loss. But, you also, have probably been there before, and know that only time and your sweet memories will soothe your pain, at least a little.

Surely most everyone on this board would share those sentiments, whether they express them or not.

Best wishes for some comfort for you, and your family.

Seems that some people think "everybody's outa step but me".

I am sorry for your loss DW. I have 3 sisters, and they, along with my Mom, are the primary reasons that I have so much respect for the gentler gender. I feel sorry for the guys that grew up without sisters.

i don't know how it is for anyone else, only myself, but i find moments like these...with the loss of loved ones, the most difficult for words that are appropriate to express grief or thanks.

the grief, i'll deal with privately, but my thanks to all of you is difficult to express. will you excuse the simple words, "thank you", to convey my and my families gratitude to all of you, for your kind and thoughtful expressions of condolence?

all of you have shown so much caring that i am simply at a loss for words. again, to all of you, thank you.
