Friend requests....

So has anybody done a friend request and been ignored? OR has anybody turned down a friend request from someone and why?

I have turned down a couple of obvious trolls. I don't recall being turned down, but the majority of my friends hit me up. Personally, I think the feature is somewhat silly - no disrespect to those who like it.

I just added 3 of you as friends, so we'll see how that goes, whether you accept friendship from me, or not. Babygirl, lpdiver, and azunoman. They all seem to be cool, and I have noticed them around here for awhile, so let's see if they befriend me as well. What is true friendship, versus internet friendship? The internet friends won't come and help you fix a flat tire, won't help you move. They will, however, feel slightly less inclined to attack you on pbh.

I will let ya know the results on these 3 friendship requests. I have always, just as Kat, just approved anybody that asked me to be their friend. I have met a few of those, when in Colombia, and have turned some of these internet friendships into actual friendships, strange as that may seem.

I've also made internet friendships that have turned in to real life friendships too.

btw... I'll help you with the tire if you're in Toronto, yes I can change a tire, but hire MOVERS please. ;)

Quantum leap, not sure why they have those funny and helpful buttons. I get these emails saying that I have been one or the other, but they never say who punched the button, or which button, or on which comment. I guess Peter and the powers that be are always working out the kinks. The frienship option definitely has some merit, particularly for those of us who travel to Colombia. I have made several actual real life friends, partly through that feature, with people I would never have had the chance to know otherwise. and the few that I have met seem to all be pretty much who they are here, and so far, none of 'em have asked for a loan, or asked me to help them move.

Houstongal got this basement started, this off topic section, as a kinder and more gentle place to be, and all in all, it has been that. This, I believe, needs to be a place to get away from the combat of the regular site, as much fun as that can be.
and thanks, LP, for your friendship. I am now sensing that most everyone, except the turdz, accept frendship from those who ask. My sampling pool experiment is limited to 3, so don't bet according to my results.

To know that you have been requested to be a friend one has to do one of two things. One have the e-mail option enabled AND read your e-mail regularly. Or navigate to the area deep withing PBH that notifies you of such. Neither of which I do regularly.

Had you not mentioned it here in the thread it may have been months before I was aware of it.

I have "ignored" a request or two that I felt were trolls and have probably accepted a few troll friends.
