I had never heard of him before the Eurovision Song Contest this year which he won hands down. I don't think many people know his name even now, they just call him "that Russian boy that represented Norway". Most artists who participate are upcoming, new performers, some of them have made quite a name for themselves afterwards (Celine Dion, Joan Manuel Serrat, Johnny Logan, ABBA to mention just a few).
