Let me tell about how much I know boxing. Mexican boxers are pretty good because they usually beat everyone who stands in front of them, and especially if they are fighting in an arena where the audience is more Mexican than the rest, for example California, Texas..
However, they have a hard time beating Puerto Rican boxers.

The Mexicans are as hard as coffin nails, they just don´t quit. Miguel Cotto is a fantastic fighter, he has been down and out twice in fights and fought back to win, he will be tough to beat, i will be supporting the under dog as usual, Antonio Margarito, he seems like a real decent guy.

As you see in the Video, Antonio fought the night after his brother was murdered in his home by robbers in Puerto (not porto).

Vegas this Saturday. You can watch it online live for free, i´ll post a link nearer the time.

What do you guys think the best fight ever was. This is my choice, they called it world war 3, Haglar Vs Hearns, unreal! This was a great time for boxing, along with Sugar Ray and Roberto hands of stone Duran.

Old time boxing warriors - they were the best.

It's not often you see a fight like that now. That's why MMA has taken off here in the States. I much rather prefer watching technical boxing bouts.

Colombian on the undercard who is no# 2 contender so lots to gain and loose, should be interesting.

GIOVANNI SEGURA and CESAR CANCHILA, the World Boxing Association’s No. 1 and No. 2-rated contenders, respectively, will battle 12-rounds for the WBA interim light flyweight title.  Segura (19-0-1, 15 KOs), a native of Mexico, now hailing from Bell Gardens, Calif., has won seven of his last eight bouts by knockout, including a fifth-round stoppage of Jesus Martinez  for the NABF title last year.  It was the first of three knockout victories for Segura in 2007 made even more impressive by the fact that his three 2007 opponents (including Daniel Reyes and Willy Valdez) had a combined record of 78-10-4 (57 KOs).  Making his U.S. debut, Canchila (26-1, 21 KOs), from Colombia, is riding a four-year, 18-bout winning streak with only two of those fights going the distance.  Even more impressive is his current streak of 10 straight knockout victories dating back to 2006, including a 12th-round TKO of Miguel Tellez for the World Boxing Organization Latino / WBA Latin American titles

coto's corner throws in the towel. One of the best fights in long time. Just goes to show, don't fuck with those mexican fighters, they will just grind you down.

Incredible fight BIlly. I thought Cotto was the better boxer most of the fight but what heart and conditioning Margarito had!

That's the thing, coto was more skilled and way faster, but margarito took it to him and started to grind him down half way through and you are right, coto's puches were not deterring him. I love mexican fighters, their idea of defense is to throw another left hook Plus I loved the way margarito was using the uppercuts.

yop, best fight in a long time. Funny thing, i was listening to a local radio sportstalk show, and they had a vegas casino linesmaker, and he said the money line was favoring Coto 280 to 100, this was friday afternoon, and he said that was because most of the PR fans were already in vegas and had bet. But he said the mexican fans were driving in from so cal and tijuana and the line would change as they arrived,. And sure enough it did change as the evening progressed. Man those casino line guys know their shit.

DOn´t think i would have had the balls to bet against Cotto, but yeah, one of the best fights i´ve seen in a long time and a fully deserved win, i don´t think Cotto is going to take this loss very well.

His conditioning was amazing, still chacing him in the 11th round, but as his trainer says before the fight, if we train hard enough the fight will be easy.

The Mexican commentator is a little colourful in this clip of the final part of the fight.
