In this video McCain claims that Palin has experience in National Security because Palin is probably the most knowledgeable person on energy.

I will let it slide that her energy experience counts for national security experience (though it is as tenuous as claiming she can see Russia through her window); however, claiming that she is probably the most knowledgeable person in America when it comes to energy is HILARIOUS!!! She has already made huge blunders about her own states production of energy, but even if she got those simple figures right it would not be proof that she is an energy genius. Give me a break!

Everything you said is correct. Palin is a joke. But i too find it "Hilarious" whenever somebody Criticizes Palin on experience and then says nothing about Obama and his great wealth of knowledge on the issues. But i dont think we'll can hear any critisism about the "choosen one" from you any time soon.

Lcacique says on Sep 23, 2008, 13:16:

I am not criticizing her on experience (though I will if you like), I am criticizing McCain for saying something SO STUPID.

Obama was not the chosen one. That was Bush. Though it may have been more fitting for Obama given that he was pressured to run for the Presidency. I have never claimed that he has a wealth of experience, though his experience is slightly more impressive than Palin's in my humble opinion. Not to mention the fact that his education background is leaps and bounds above Palin and it is in a field that is applicable to politics. Regardless, the experience debate was started by the Republicans and I have always maintained that it is not always the best indicator when taken alone. For example, I would have rather built my team around Hakeem Olajuwon in his first year out of college than around Chris Dudley with 8 years of experience.

As for criticizing Obama, like any candidate, he has both weaknesses and faults. I am not a wholehearted supporter of all of the policies that he has advocated.

And here is a little compliment for you...I bet you know more about energy than Palin.

Considering her level of experience, it seems Palin rarely showed up to work.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13736.html

With respect to her approval rating...what has been the price of oil since she has been in office (oil provides a little over 80% of the state's budget)? It has been said that the increase in oil revenue resulted in a significant surplus that allowed Palin to increase the budget by 60%. Who wouldn't be popular under those circumstances?

People keep claiming that the liberals are only focusing on Palin as if she is the one running for President. Well...Isn't it funny how little McCain is appearing in public without Palin. There have been reports of people only hanging out to her Palin and then leaving when McCain begins to speak. This cannot be good for his ego. And it must have felt like a kick in the nuts for John when Palin said that it was a Palin/McCain ticket, not once but twice. Ouch! I cannot imagine that he greeted her with a smile backstage...jajaja. Freudian slip.

and im sure she know more about energy than obama..hahah Anyway what expience does Obama have..thats the thing, its little or nobody knows. He's been a senotor for what?? 2 years, and this is a guy that just votes present on alot of issues. I still could end up voting for Obama, but i still have no idea what this guy is all about.

He was elected to the US Senate in 2005. He was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996. So he voted present, at least he showed up...it appears that the same cannot be said about Palin.

You know nothing in terms of what Obama is about? Maybe you ought to broaden your sources...

You are certain that Palin knows more about energy than Obama? Interesting...

Lcacique says on Sep 24, 2008, 09:50:

Obama voted present, something that is not rare for Illinois Senators, for a variety of reasons. He voted 4,000 times and only voted "present" a little over 100 times. Most of the time he did so in concert and strategically with other Democrats. A measure that seems good on the surface often has a bunch of negative facets buried in it. A legislator may want to voice his disapproval of these negative aspects without being slammed for not supporting the principle, positive aspect of the measure. Voting "no" will serve as political ammunition, nobody will address the fact that the measure had several negative aspects. Instead they will say that the person failed to vote "yes" on the principle/positive aspect that everyone agrees is a good thing. Therefore, voting "present" is a way to voice disapproval for certain aspects without disagreeing with the entire measure. In addition, a "present" vote is used to voice concerns about the legality of certain aspects of a bill (which Obama did on several occasions). There were a handful of times (very few) were his decisions seemed to be calculated political decisions (i.e. he did not want to appear "soft on crime"); however, there were not many cases like this. In addition, our political culture makes senators vote for bills that are ineffective and worthless (in many cases). To appear "soft on crime" or "soft on drugs" is political suicide. But, as I already stated, a small number of his "present" votes are questionable.

Neverthless, political experts and politicians agree that voting "present" is participating and it has a variety of uses. If you want to compare that to a person who stayed at home the majority of the time, who called for meetings that she failed to attend, go right ahead.

At least Obama and Biden speak to the press. Will Sarah Palin actually give a press conference before the elections? This is supposed to be such a strong and experienced woman who will stand up to our enemies if John kicks the bucket, yet she cannot stand up to our press.

Why set your sights so low, esanch? Why not wish to be Governor of Alaska? Then you would not even have to show up to work. You could just lounge around in your tanning bed all day and collect paychecks.

Voting "present" is not "just showing up" as any political analyst would point out. In most cases it is strategic as noted above. Again, he rarely did so anyway (roughly 3% of the time).

israel will have their representative, mrs. palin, running the war on iran and elsewhere in the mid east.

dude, neocons know exactly what they're doing.

And why should it? What does being Jewish have to do with anything? Will Obama being half-black be criticized by the media?

That's what they said about Cheney, and he's still here.

Okay, that's a good point. But you have to admit, McCains a tough old SOB!

"we'll just have to see what kind of treatment a jewish president might receive from the press."

According to some people (Ujay) the "media is owned by the Jews." If that's the case than a Jewish President should have a smooth ride. Actually, the media hates Republicans whether they are white, black, Jewish, or anything else....

the media has not made any kind of a criticism of George Bush........that i've ever seen, anyway......he has had a completely free ride.....compared to Reagan who didn't play ball with israel.

Vincent Bugliosi (the charles manson prosecutor), says that he could prosecute Bush for war crimes and win just on what bush has said in the media.

McCain used to call the media his base and the media LOVED him...it is only recently that he has decided to slam the media and this is because he has adopted former Bush advisers.
