Kat - I've found it helpful to keep in touch with friends in other locations and my niece and nephew.

My niece always changes her message line (Jane is .....) so if she says she's studying for an exam, I send her a good luck email. And if friends add new photos (e.g., one recently had a baby), it's a great way to know they're available for viewing.

Hello kat1 well I have 252 friends so far on facebook (including HG:)), its cool bc I found lot's of old friends from school actually we made a meeting on dec...
It's funny bc you can know, who dates, who is divorced, married, single, crazy, liberal, conservative, too old for their age, look too young!!!...
Maybe too much if you are a person with lot of debts and unpaid bills jajajajaj they are going to find you thru facebook!!!
I think is good, at first is addictive but after 2 weeks is boring....
What I don't like is what you said, lot of people that you barely know or you don't know at all is saying "I want to be your friend!!!" .... so is good in some ways, as business, contacts, or just for old friends.... actually I got lot of old pictures of me.. without knowing that those pics exist!!!
