Kat - I've found it helpful to keep in touch with friends in other locations and my niece and nephew.

My niece always changes her message line (Jane is .....) so if she says she's studying for an exam, I send her a good luck email. And if friends add new photos (e.g., one recently had a baby), it's a great way to know they're available for viewing.

I think is good, at first is addictive but after 2 weeks is boring....

I must admit I do waste a lot of time on Facebook. So much I was actually considering disabling my account for a while, just so I could be more productive work wise... But I couldn't make myself do it, hehe. I think it's funny how I get so many friend requests from people I went to school with that weren't even my friends in school. At first I ignored them, but they were so persistent I just figured whatever. The weird thing is, if I bumped with them in the street I wouldn't say hi, I'd actually try and avoid them (I was quite the odd one out in school, go figure) but in Facebook, ah in Facebook you're all my friends! Say his name is Juan Carlos Ramirez Pinzon Abadia he would go by Juan Carlos R. P. Abadia when writing his name out.
