DRACULA or Prince Vlad a leader known as a defender of the Christian faith, a Romanian hero, and a subhuman monster.

From very small, Tepes showed a morbid fascination for the dungeons of the castle of his father. He is a hero in his land, for the fierce resistance that objected to the advance of the Ottomans. Nevertheless, he was extremely cruel with his enemies, whom he was condemning to the death penalty of empalement.
I visited Romania last year and went to see the area where the castle is situated, quite a place!
Cheers

From a long running American Soap Opera from the 1960's and early 70s called Dark Shadows set in New England. It was a story filled with ghosts, witches, zombies, monsters, werewolves, gypsies, warlocks and involved time travel and a parallel universe. But the star was the 175 year old, love-smitten Vamp, Barnabas Collins of Collinsport, Maine. Barnabas was 'turned' after being bitten by a vampire bat from Hell summoned by a jealous lover who practiced Voodoo. The story follows him backwards and forwards through time and dimension as he finds true love, a cure and to a lesser degree, redemption.

I was a kid at the time and like most boys was much more interested in baseball and girls than a 'soap'; but this one, all my friends and I used to run home after school to watch. There was nothing else like it on day-time TV. It was really cool.

All episodes are available on video.
