dar papaya?

most euphimisms like this have some sort of logical beginnings. anyone know the roots of this one?

if not, i'll continue thinking it's possibly the dumbest expression i ever heard. ;)

don't know when come from, but in Colombia there is another similar expression that is no dar boleta,

Papaya is a fruit so i don't know is if something refering to that
or Papayera is a group who plays certain type of music, like porros, gaitas, cumbias

If you cut open a papaya, there's an alleged resemblance to the female pudendum. Hence, the phrase's sense of you opening up yourself to be f*cked.

I went for the gentlest euphemism I could think of. I didn't want to be any more explicit- they're deleting men for less :(

no comment lest i be guilty of speaking badly about one of our many fattys....

i worked in so many countries on so many continents and never, NEVER have i seen such un attractive, simple people as here. culture, to the folks here, means, nascar, motorcycles and tattoos. i got none of the above. where i was nursed and weaned, culture included bach, titian, pollock, vermeer, beethoven, et al...those loosly considered masters of their art/craft. but here, mention of the above wouldn't even wiggle an ear. pity i really do need a drink.....

Well, you need to be on the West Coast. Had no idea you were in Daytona. Interesting mix in Florida...I did not like Florida - reminded me of a mix between Hollywood/Sex in the City meets the Dukes of Hazzard. I pass. Some people love it - good for them

Where do we go from here?

dwmte7 says on Jun 16, 2008, 06:52:

well, kitty , we ended here by default....our folks, very elderly, were retired her (california farming family) and they asked us if we'ld move back from colombia and take care of them. they would take care of us in return. well, with our youngest running around their house every day, they got seven more wonderful years. they passed two years ago this coming christmas.

now, like the song, 'stuck in lodi' we're here, 'waiting for godot'. we were gonna wait until laurita enters university before moving back to medallo....but, i don't think i can last that long.
