I only wished that we had had IKEA in Puerto Rico, or here in Panamá.

I already looked, and is not in Colombia either.

Funny video, like a bunch of drunken Dutchmen at caranaval.

As close as I ever came to Sweden was shooping at IKEA, drove Volvos for about 20 yeras, and almost flew to Gothenburg to pick up a new one. Oh, and owned a bit of the truck stock for a while. Made a couple bucks, if I remember.

I REALLY want one of those red hats, like the guy with the glasses is wearing...my image could use a little sprucing up these days.

and the plastic jugs? I assume that's the swede version of moonshine? what's it called, des? coming from North Carolina, I'm sortuva fan of the home brew. ;)

Before you throw me out, make sure I pay my bar tab

It's home brew or "hembränt" in Swedish. (I'sppose) I've never been part of that Midsommar ritual when you jump around the Midsummer Pole (A Phallic symbol if there ever was one) and prtend to be small frogs with no ears and no tail....I think it's rather embarrassing, if you're sober and I have never managed to be drunk enough not to find it embarrassing.

The red head gear looks more like what Swedes would wear at Christmas...

And no, Mr. Hollywood, I do not look like anything the matron cutting the salmon in pieces. I look more like the gals dancing on the top of the cars in their knickers ;)

But of course, we are such prudes (in public).

Reminds me of an old gal who operated a nightclub in Dayton. She was the MC and had singers and dancers on the bar. If she told an off color joke and the audience laughed, she'd say "That's what I like, look clean, . . laugh DIRTY!".

I love the European commercials.

Do you know that on television, and in the movies, censors prohibited a married couple to be in a double bed together (under the covers)? And if they were, they had to have one foot on the floor. That was, I think, 'til maybe the 70s (maybe the 80s).

Lucy and Ricky always had twin beds, on "I love Lucy", and were never shown pushed together, LOL.

BTW, have you seen "La Vie en Rose"?

I saw in the local paper that it was sub-titled, and thought "great". But of course is a French film, subtitled in SPANISH. But, I can read well enough so that I could sorta follow the story line (which being French, was all over the place), and I know something of her life.

This is the closing scene. You probably know the story, so no surprises.

That song has a special meaning to me, and I'll tell you, I didn't leave the theater dry-eyed.

No, Sloopie, I didn't see the movie. But what a fabulous singer she was!

She was our favorite, partly because it reminded us, and my in-laws of our times in Paris, especially Sacré Coeur, Montmartre, and Place Pigalle .

I forgot that you could embed youtube videos here, but probably not of much general interest on PBH:

No need to worry about "general interest", Sloopie, this is Do Your Thing. I'm doing mine:) Yes, I *think* I can understand how you must've felt when watching the movie.
