Brawn GP Front Row at Australian Grand Prix

Amazingly, Brawn GP has scored a front row in qualifying at the Australian GP. Brawn GP used to be the Honda team which was taken over by Ross Brawn(formerly of Ferrari).

Who knows what kind of fuel load they were on, but Button is on pole and Barichello is second. Should be an interesting race. McLaren are all the way down in 14th and 15th with the same Mercedes engine. This is definitely an exciting start to the season.

The only reason I'm on PBH this late on a friday night is that I was waiting to watch the first qualifying of the season. Now I am taking my butt to bed. Have fun storming the castle.

Yeah CG can you imagine my surprise this morning at seeing Button, who barely finished higher than 12th last season, finishing pole? He's a good driver, and believe it or not, now he has a great car.

Honda pretty much said "game over" at the end of last season, and Brawn, who designed their cars, knew after the first few races last season that there was no point, their car was dreadful. Thus, he started working on the new model, and was working all of last season on it. It is going to pay off, by the looks of it. When Honda called it quits, Brawn said "hang on, we have a good car now" and bought them out, so now Brawn GP, perhaps after all not-so-surprisingly, has a young Button sitting pole for tomorrow (today's?) race.

and of course Barrichelo 2nd, well, if the car holds out, it could be a 1-2 finish.

Actually, I'm sure you'll agree, to have a 3rd highly competitive car that isn't McClaren and Ferrari will make this year fantastic... and wtf is up with the newly proposed points system based solely on wins? I hope that doesn't go through.

Well, it was 1-2 finish, after Kubica and Vettel amateurishly collided in the fourth final lap. I thought Kubica was a bit cheeky for closing Vettel in, of course without the front wing there is no downforce, so they couldn't even finish the race.

"I guess it wouldn't be F1 without controversy."

haha, that's true! I haven't read the story, but I doubt much will come of it. Losing teams, like jilted ex-lovers, find all sorts of excuses for ripping points off of the winning teams.

As for the multipart posts, no worries, I'm as guilty as anyone, and I don't have a wife or women's stores to blame them on ;)
