The rockets are not harmful militarily but attack the achiles heel of the zionist state: immigration.

half of american zionists have left israel, russian and other zionists are leaving too

.... and birth rates are too low for zionism to survive without immigration and colonizatio

i am no zionist, nor supporter of islamic terrorism.

the palestinians have been robbed of their lands, denied access to the world economy, and pushed into a corner that has caused 1.5 billion muslims to side with them. and they're really pissed. especially since this genocide is front page around the world 24/7.

the backlash from this will set off by a factor of a hundred, any supposed feelings of security the israelis think they're securing by this atrocity they and many others will pay a terrorism price no one wants to think about. the shit's gonna hit the fan...soon.

if we thought islamo terrorism was out of hand before, hold on to your drawers, cause europe, the americas and india and africa are gonna pay dearly for this arrogant stupidity. mark my words.

and as for your defense, billy....these miserable missles have only killed about 20-30 people over the years. they (israel) killed more than 50 children in the u.n. school alone. remember, i'm not politically aligned with either side....my side is humanity's

i first worked in gaza in the early 70's and trust me, even then, the israeli presence and persecution was horrible. now, 40 yrs later it's become a middle eastern 'darfur'. and we, the u.s., are equally to blame. the u.s. power brokers have time and again, made excuses for the israelis instead of looking at why the muslims are so pissed. pity

"and as for your defense, billy....these miserable missles have only killed about 20-30 people over the yea"

The fact that the Palestinians are incompetent when it comes to the art of war (terrorism in their case) and cannot hit the broadside of a barn at 20 feet with their missiles, doesn't lessen their evil intent. They have fired over 3000 missiles, purposely aimed at Israeli civilians, and if they had hit theit intended targets, you would have had tens of thousands of Israeli civilian deaths. So please Doug, that excuse holds no water.

"hey (israel) killed more than 50 children in the u.n. school alone."

That is just not true (besides the number being 40), they were not children, they were mostly adults sheltering at the school, a school from which cowardly Hamas was firing mortars from with the express purpose of inciting return fire in the hopes that precisely what happened would happen. Hamas doesn't care about those deaths, they only care about the propaganda value those deaths afforded them. Doug, we expect Vlad to be the official Minister of Disinformation for various terrorist groups here on PBH, but expect more accuracy from you.

In many ways Israel is a sorry place and one for which I feel little instinctive sympathy. Creepy weirdos from Brooklyn and thugs from Moscow pushing people about is a galling image in anyone's book. However, the hard, dispassionate fact is that groups such Hamas and Hezbollah (and their Leftist fellow travellers) want to kill Jews. Any study of their ghastly rhetoric shows that they're not simply exercised about issues of nationhood and 'Zionism': they're motivated by something far more visceral and atavistic. To avoid another Holocaust, therefore, the Jews have every right to defend themselves. Which is what they're doing in the Middle East right now.

well, billy...i guess you failed to watch the funeral--all over the world news, fox incl--of the children in the un school.

too, the israeli defense minister stated, himself, that the morter fire DID NOT come from the school and on a clarifying note. threre have been 6000 missle launches over the years...the body count hasn't changed.

the body count in this current conflagration is 750 plus palestinians. i find it difficult on humanitarian grounds to defend this. again, i'm neither zionist nor islamist. i'm a humanist. and by the way, i've worked in both israel and gaza and the truth is wide of the publicity.

there's one and only one solution to this issue. and this pertains to both sides. forget the one upmans ship and eye for and eye bullshit. they just need to get totally fucking tired of the death and distruction and STOP THE FUCKIN KILLING. without giving up by giving in, both sides, this shit will continue ad nauseum. we'll be able to pass the news cast on to our grandchildren and they to theirs.

forget about which side you think you're on, think about life and it's preservation. this will not come about by more shelling and killing. i can't think of too many mothers in this world who would rather bury their children than nurse and raise them. this brings to mind the wife of a former canadian pm who stated that if politics were in the hands of women, the killing world wide would come to a screeching halt. women are simply more 'life' oriented, while men are clearly ego and power driven...much to my and millions of others chagrin.

you are free to wave what ever flag you choose and bang your drum for whatever cause you thing appropriate; but at the end of the day, if all that cacaphony didn't bring about change, what do you do next? rush and o'reilley damn sure don't have any answers...not a fuckin one, they and their ilk--rove (dr strangelove)--are mongers and will never be anything else.

so i suggest that we appeal to a higher side of human nature and seek PEACE, NOT WAR.

the latter has proven over the last 60,000 years to be untenable and hasn't done the trick yet. we have folks killed in the name of GOD, the right, the left, the church, the union, race and on and on and on. but where's the peace? when i turn on the news, i see woman who have been repeatedly raped, their children either dead or starving, their homes and lives destroyed with NO HOPE of anything else. i simply can't believe that this solution bares your vote. i hold you in higher respect.

Any nation in the world would do the same. And if it is 6000 missiles and not 3000, that just means that the Palestinians are TWICE as incompetent as I previously game them credit for, but think for a moment Doug about how many Israeli civilians the Palestinians intended to kill by lobbing 6000 rockets into urban areas.

only 3 likely outcomes longterm:

1. foriegn colonialists are thrown out like the french were in algeria

2. like blacks in south africa palestinians are given the right to vote in israeli elextions and due to thier greater population jews become a minority (an extrememly powerful minority likes whites in s africa) in israel/palestine

3. like indians in USA palestinians are ethnically cleansed

two state solution is no longer an option, so what you have are the beginnings of aparthied which will result eventually in one of the above 3 outcomes.

lets hope the south african model where blacks and whites now live together peacefully in one country succeeds

Billy and Mongo- glad to see you're still flying the banner of reason.

Doug- 'going back to my dinner' means returning to my evening meal. There was half a bottle of red and a couple of bread rolls left to go.

Your "on the bbc this a.m. the jews in london are demonstrating against israel in this quagmire" is not actually the case. A tiny minority are; but in the main, London Jewry is turning out en masse for the pro-Israel demonstrations.
Incidentally, I found myself caught up in a mob of lefties and muslims on their way to a demonstration yesterday. The atmosphere was hateful- a cloying fusion of smugness and bloodlust. I imagine the Nuremberg Rally having a similar ambience. I think the Israelis are both wrong and stupid to rely on firepower to solve all their problems; but I don't want to see them exterminated. And if that pack of gleeful haters I met yesterday are anything to go by, there's no shortage of people who'd be queuing up for it.

Israel, has been doing this for more than 50 years ,
Ever since the British fucked the Palestinians,by letting just 30.000 at the time move out over 1 million ,then that went to 300.000,and 3 million got moved ,
They took the top end where the land was better for produce ,
And year by year just took more land ,

They do this only with the help of the USA ,
They were set to let France give them nuclear, until the USA saw money to be made and they took over ,
Now pump in 3 billion of your tax dollars every year.

Had the USA opened it doors and let the ones from Germany in ,thousands could have been saved ,but they never took them ,Canada and even oz took in more than the USA .

Its sticks and sling shot against bullets and bombs ,sea blocked boarders blocked ,roads blocked ,
No water ,no food ,no medicine ,and you wonder why they blow them self's up ,
Palestinians children worth less than an Israeli child .

And put your hand on your heart and ask your self ,for more than 50 years they have had this shit day in day out ,
And tell me you would not be fighting for your own land ,doing just what they can ,with what ever they can .

May be the Germans were right all along ,
May be its time to light the ovens back up .

Which ever way you look at it ,from which ever side ,

The Israelis are guilty of crimes against humanity full stop.

Israel is widely believed to be the sixth country in the world to develop nuclear weapons[3] and to be one of four nuclear-armed countries not recognized as a Nuclear Weapons State by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the others being India, Pakistan and North Korea.[4] International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Mohamed ElBaradei regards Israel as a state possessing nuclear weapons[5], but Israel maintains a policy known as "nuclear ambiguity" (also known as "nuclear opacity"). Israel has never officially admitted to having nuclear weapons, instead repeating over the years that it would not be the first country to "introduce" nuclear weapons to the Middle East, leaving ambiguous whether it means it will not create or will not use the weapons.

Israel began investigating the nuclear field just one year after its 1948 founding and with French support secretly began building a nuclear reactor and reprocessing plant in the late 1950s. Although Israel first built a nuclear weapon in 1967-68 it was not publicly confirmed from the inside until Mordechai Vanunu, a former Israeli nuclear technician, revealed details of the program to the British press in 1986. Israel is currently believed to possess between 75 and 200 nuclear warheads with the ability to deliver them by ground, aircraft, and submarine.[1]
