Amen Mongo.. I voted for Ron Paul last election and everyone thought I was crazy and now I am looking like a genus. hahaha
Looks like the country may be waking up!!!!!!
I see Peter Schiff is now running for Criss Dodd's seat in the senate. He was Ron Paul’s economic advisor and called the economic collapse before it happened. We need to get rid of all of the bums. Start over with more common sense and less lawyers. About 80% of our elected officials are lawyers and we wonder why we are where we are now?

Scum........" I voted for Ron Paul last election and everyone thought I was crazy and now I am looking like a genus."

Ron Paul talks a lot of sense. But, talking and governing are very different. There is another thread going here about Pres Carter. If you remember, or care to look it up, Carter talked a huge amount of sense during his presidential campaign. It's a pretty universal feeling that he didn't govern very well.

Actually Carter was slightly before my time but I remember the affects of his presidency. Double digit inflation, Interest rates through the roof, Gas shortage, Even, Odd days to buy gas at the pumps. The failed rescue attempt of our hostages. He left quite legacy. I voted for Reagan my first election I was old enough to vote.
Ron Paul actually is a libertarian but ran as republican. He made the statement one time saying if he ran as a libertarian he would probably be defeated in his own district. That tells you one of our main problems.. People voting for the R or D before there name and not the candidate. There are so many things wrong with how things are now... Pork to buy constituents votes is huge. Special interests donating millions to candidates. There is no way to know how Ron Paul would have been as president, but I doubt he would be any worse than we have now. I know at least he would be fighting for financial responsibility in government spending.
Bush was in a hole up to his waste digging a hole for the US. Obama has brought in a back hoe to dig.

Kurious.. The failed rescue attempt was Carters fault for several reasons. He gutted the defence budget for one. Didn’t modernize and update. The military runs as the president wants by his appointment of defense secretary and a couple other key positions. You don’t recall Bush taking flack about the military because of Rumsfield?

scumbuster says on Sep 20, 2009, 05:28:

Ray... Did you ever hear of a single recession that lasted forever. No matter how bad it was it would eventually turn around... And the car companies. hahahaha The only reason they are going back to work, (temporarily I might add) is because our government paid us to buy there old stock. Now with no demand again and everyone that was even slightly considering buying a car in the next 2 years has one, how long do you think they will keep working?
Oh.. and that 800 billion stimulus package that has not been spent but, oh yes, I forgot, they are spending the majority of it in 2 more years. The year leading up to the next presidential election... Buying those constituents.
But my opinion is just written off because I am a racist..

GS..............I'm not quite sure what part of what I said you don't understand. What I said above..." monthly unemployment numbers halved..........."

Here are the official figuires, and the sources.

" We have seen a steady pattern of lower job losses since January, when we hemorrhaged over 700,000 jobs in that single month. August’s loss of 216,000 is sure an improvement over that, and is even a big improvement over the 276,000 lost in July, which in turn was a huge improvement over the 463,000 lost in June."

I vote Obama as the lesser of the two evils, by a hair, only because he is trying to do something to save us, and seems to want to do something, and seems to at least have half a brain, versus none. I liked Bush Sr. ok, but really liked Reagan, before the senility kicked in, which was not his fault, so much. Carter was the most lame, to me. Nixon was way too much of a crook. Ford was nonexistent. Johnson was a democrat establishment career politician loser. Kennedy I liked, in the same way I liked Reagan. He was a charismatic leader who inspired us to feel good about ourselves, which is not all bad. Shall I free associate all the way back to Washington and Jefferson? Ok, well I likw Ike was...just kidding, no more.

Obama is becoming more emabarrassing by the day. If I were American, I would be emabarrassed to have him as my head of state.

(1) His deficits make any other president look like a penny pincher by comparison. What will this mean for the US currency? What will this mean for PBH gringos who want to retire outside the US? What will this mean for a whole generation of baby boomers who remain in the US to retire?

(2) He bowed down and kissed the hand of the king of Saudi Arabia. I am surprised Obama didn't bend over and kiss the king's ass, or maybe even suck the king's circumcised member.

(3) In the UN he doesn’t have the balls to confront Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

(4) The Canadian Prime Minister came to the White House. Obama didn't even have the decency or dilpomatic acumen to come to the White House door to greet him, but instead sent some third level State Department bureaucrat. Then he gave Canada's PM 42 minutes of his precious time. That is no way to treat the head of government of America's largest trading partner. During the campaign that stupid chump Obama thought Canada has a president. Obama gives more time to Leno and Letterman than he does to the PM of a close ally or to his most senior military advisers. What an ass!!

(5) The guy thinks he has the cure for America's economic ills, even though he has never run a business, and has spent most, if not his whole life feeding at the government trough.

(6) Now he says he is not interested in victory in Afghanistan? What a jerk!! Why then should the soldiers have any interest in fighting?

To be fair, the Republicans didn't give Americans a very satisfactory alternative.
