Glenn Beck has ratings that are through the roof, and I like him because he tells it like it is rather than hiding behind rose colored glasses. This could be a test case for them to see if they can hurt Beck, and if so then go after other commentators that do not share thier left wing views. This is interesting in that it will help define wheter or not our constitutional freedom of speach has been undermined under the obama administration. kf

GlennBeck has ratings through the roof for Fox Fans, many of us get our news via other sources and develop our viewpoints from many sources. I didn't know who this guy even was until he was in the news over this recent comment. Personally I haven't watched FOX news in 6 years and then only watch Fox TV for its COPS Show on occassion in the evening. What really caught my eye is that 33 Advertisers are bailing on him and any Network Chief understands that langauge $$$$$

I beleive they are even ahead of all 3 regular channels. Fox is the only one not slanted leftward, with nbc way leftward and way behind in the ratings. Couldn't comment on Mathews, Olbermann--I don't listen to them. Truth is I don't even know if their Programs are still on TV. Are They? After the USA switched to Digital, I never replaced my TV months ago, listening to Radio for my news or getting it from Online Sources and Print Media,,,Never even knew what Beck looked like until they showed his Pic on AP article this am.

Give me a break! He is clearly nuts and it is frightening that people watch him for guidance and not for his freakshow-esque humor. You do not like Olbermann because he comes off like a bully? He doesn't even compare to O'Reilly or Hannity (or even to Beck for that matter) in terms of that sort of behavior. And as far as know-it-all behavior, you don't believe that O'Reilly and Hannity nail that description.

"The more commercial television news you watch, the more wrong you are likely to be about key elements of the Iraq War and its aftermath, according to a major new study released in Washington this week. And the more you watch the Rupert Murdoch-owned Fox News channel, in particular, the more likely it is that your perceptions about the war are wrong, adds the report by the University of Maryland's Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA).

For each of the three misperceptions, the study found enormous differences between the viewers of Fox, who held the most misperceptions, and NPR/PBS, who held the fewest by far. Eighty percent of Fox viewers were found to hold at least one misperception, compared to 23 percent of NPR/PBS consumers. All the other media fell in between. They do not produce news, they have a troop of right-wing commentators who have no shame in reporting their paranoid opinions as if they are fact.

Exactly, CG. Rightwing groups have been known to do this, yet here they are freaking out when it is done to one of their own. I do not necessarily like that a group had to suggest that sponsors should walk away after Beck showed his true colors; however, I am not going to act like it is some kind of new phenomena unique to the left.

Just last night financial guru Cramer talked about this situation, and to greatly summarize, said it would make no difference and that he would just pick up other advertisers such as Unilever who has had a better 1/4 than the other conglomerates because they dont give in to the politically correct leanings and advertize everywhere regardless.
