Hotels in Medellin

My g/f is flying out to Medellin for a week and I want to splash out on a good hotel for a couple of nights before we head out of the city. Looking for a smaller friendly place rather than one of the big chains and a pool and/or cool decor would be great. Anyone got any ideas as there seems to be a big gap between the 'budget' and 'international luxury' hotels that I have looked at... ...
