try TACA and try Cali TACA is usually cheap from San Jose to Colombia but ask if it is cheaper to fly to Cali. Flying LosAngeles-Cali instead of LosAngeles-Bogota was over US$200 cheaper, even though it meant an extra flight (I flew through Bogota anyway). Crazy but true - I think they were just doing a promotion for flights via Cali.

Thanks for the all the advice Thanks for all the recommendations - $130 a night is huge for Colombia but you would pay that for a crappy hotel in the UK and I do travel with the British pound (please save us from the Euro...). It also sounds like you get a suite like a palace. Also, my g/f is only here for a week so maybe I should blow the budget and we can live the high life for a couple of nights! Makes a change from $20US a day....

weekday prices / booking? anyone know the usual prices for the Mariscal Robledo midweek.. thinking of arriving there Monday October 30th for a couple of days. Hopefully it will me 'mas tranquilo' then.. Also is it worth booking or should we just turn up like we normally do...
