Size 42 Colombian is equivalent to a size 11 American. Just wanted to drop this bit of information. I went to Colombia and bought a pair of Bosi shoes and my American size is 11. After a few pairs tried on the Colombian 42 was the best fit for me. Hope this helps some. Thanks!

wofiii comments on Hotel suggestions near Mormon Temple in North Bogota? Many things mislead people about the Chuch of LDS... As was stated before polygamy is illegal and not practiced nor allowed by the LDS. There are many rumors about the LDS faith that are not true. I will admit I heard all these rumors all my life and thought they were true also until I met a good friend of mine who was LDS, now I'm LDS and any who read this might want to check out the beliefs of the LDS because it just might open your eyes to many things you need and want to know. The website is www.lds.org Choose the Right!

wofiii comments on it is cheaper to buy tickets in colombia for travel between cities? Check out Avianca's website Avianca is running a special right now if you purchase a round trip ticket that departs in Miami you get a flight inside the country free. There are specific dates that apply, but check that out to see if that benifits you. I have been told it is cheaper to buy tickets here, but I am sure it all depends on the time of season and the travel agent or website you deal with also.

wofiii comments on Just posted some pics from my 2 trips to Medellin and surrounding areas question about your waiting time You mentioned her interview was on August 30, when was your submittal date on your I-129F Petition and I'm assuming you went through the California Service Center. I'm trying to get a general timeframe together on my situation for each stage of the process. Thanks a bunch!!

wofiii comments on Affidavit for Support Question and Document Dates Thanks utopiacowboy! I appreciate the answer, took a lot of sweat of my head. You have a lot of good knowledge and information about this and I appreciate the time you take in answering mine and everyone elses questions. I know a good bit, but without the experience of the whole process I occassionally have some questions. If you don't mind what is your opinion on these things. I have sent $400 to my fiancée's bank account three different times for my travel expenses to Colombia and for other things like our wedding rings and other wedding things, because they are a ton cheaper there. I'd trust my fiancée with my life and every cent I had, but do you think the Embassy could look at this the wrong way, assuming we would have the receipts for the rings, her wedding dress, and some of my travel expenses? I already have about 3 or 4 inches thick of evidence on our relationship and we are months away from the interview. Is it possible to have too much evidence??? For example our letters to each other by email well total over 200 to 300 pages now. Also, she speaks very little English, but I speak good Spanish and read it even better, we never have a problem communicating and I was interested in you opinion on this also. Lastly, I promise for now anyways, I mentioned above about the money transfers. Right now I am exchanging my Dollars for about $2650 pesos per dollar and that is through Direct Deposite with a 4% fee. Is that a pretty good deal, or would you recommend something else? Thanks a bunch!!! Chao

wofiii comments on Fiancé(e) Visa Info for US Citizens Certificado de Solteria What I found out is that some states do not offer such thing, which is basically a Certificate stating that you are Single. If you are unable to get this you will need to get at least three people to write statements saying how long they have known you, their relation to you, and that you are currently single and not married. These papers will need to be notorized then sent to your state apostille division for the states apostille for the Colombian government to accept them. After this you will need to get those translated into Spanish as well as any other document in English like Divorce papers, Birth Certificate, and letter to the Colombian Consulate in your area to arrange your interview for you special visa needed to marry.

wofiii comments on k1 visa packet #4 Question for Yahya You say your interview is this month. When did you originally sumit your application and to what service center, then what were the time frames between each stage. Thanks!

|
wofiii comments on immigration problem K1 is much faster over K3 K1 is the only way to go. K1 processing times are months ahead of K3 right now go to the USCIS website and check out the processing times for your service center for the I129F aka K1 and then the Missouri for the K3. Hope this helped.

wofiii comments on marriage in Colombia question If your Goal is to get to the US faster then DO NOT MARRY If your final goal is to get to the United States and you want that to be done as fast as possible then you do not want to marry in Colombia, because that can take you many more months to receive the K3 visa for marriage as opposed to the Fiancée visa K1. It also depends on what USCIS service center you use. For instance if you live were you use the Vermont service center, the K1 is the only way to go. They are currently processing K3 visas with receipt dates in February 2004.

wofiii comments on Am I Crazy?? Medellín is a wonderful place. I'll be taking my third trip to Medellín in 4 months and yes I have a fiancée there that is the reason, but the countryside and more so the temperature is wonderful. However, as everyone else has noted the problem with moving there is good paying jobs. For example my fiancée is in charge of Advertising and Marketing for a good size company there and makes about $400 per month. Not so good, especially considering she puts in many 10 or more hour days, and has many college degrees. To think people make more here in 1 to 2 weeks doing the easiest of jobs without any further education sounds crazy to her, but it is the truth. Getting back to Colombia...I've been to Cartagena and Medellín and liked Cartagena, but loved Medellín. If all goes well with my fiancée and I, I would hope to live in Medellín in the future especially if the economy gets better and the safety factor were to improve. So go for it if you have the means too, especially if you have a lot of family there. I do not think you would regret it.

wofiii comments on Visa Information Waiting on my approval also. Just wanted to tell you that you can find out a good bit of information at the USCIS website to see the latest on processing times and other information, just don't try to contact the embassy in Bogota for any information, because they will tell you to use their call center that charges you about $1 per minute in 10 minute increments for any curiosities you might have. There is plenty of information on the web, but I have found that there is not much direct information for US Citizens waiting on our Colombian counterparts. It would be great to know approximately how much time after the application is approved at the service center how much time is usually spends at the national visa center, then how much time it takes once Bogota has everything before the interview appointment is made. The whole process is very aggrevating and time consuming, and one needs a ton or two of patience to wait it all out. The sad thing about it is, it takes longer if you marry in Colombia to bring your other half to the US.
