I would greatly appreciate a little advice concerning the following situation.
I am a US citizen married to a Colombian citizen. We have a daughter who is also a US citizen. My wife has never had a US visa. We are planning a trip to the US in December and need to get her a visa. I have been told by everybody at the embassy that since we are not planning on residing in the US, she has to apply for a B-1/B-2 visa just like any other Colombian planning to visit the US on vacation ...
Hey everybody.
Does anybody have firsthand experience with the San Jose Hospital that could let me know if it's a recommendable place to be attended?
Thanks.
Hey everybody.
I was reading a few threads and I just have to vent.
It absolutely pisses me off when people use code-switching (aka Spanglish) in weird ways.
I have noticed (both on this page and in real life) that this is mostly done by people with little or no knowledge of Spanish who just want to show off the few words they do know.
For example: "I went to Cartagena with my novia", "I like to go to the bars to bailar", etc.

I was wondering if you guys could help me out by giving me suggestions for baby names that would sound good in English and Spanish and with one English last name and one Spanish last name. We don't know yet if it will be a boy or a girl.
Thanks ...

Just looking for some advice. Do you guys think that the US Customs would give me a hard time for taking coca Tea into the US? I was going to take some back with me on my next visit to the states and I was wondering if anybody here has had any bad experiences with Customs agents and coca tea. Also, this question would apply to the coca cookies and pure coca leaf, too. ...
Just thought this map would be a good resource for everybody to access. It's a map showing the official stratification of Bogotá. Stratus' 1 - 6.

Well, this isn't really about Colombia, but I think it's worth mentioning since it affects general views of hispanics in the US. If you click the below link you will read the following:
"SAN DIEGO, Dec. 20 - Every year at this time, the restaurant kitchens and vegetable fields of California empty out. Prayers are said to San Cristofo, money is removed from mattresses, and Mexicans head home."
"immigrants head back to Mexico for the holidays, their pickup trucks and ...
