webmanco comments on Those F!*%$#ing Motos I am a Atrevido when on a motorcicle. I doubt they would do away with the soat, but motorcicle accidents are not always at the driver´s fault but becouse of also reckless car, both public and particular cars, plus the bad shape of some roads. Uribe is pushing for higher taxes and raise on insurance for motorcicles, nowdays it is more expensive to insurance a motorcicle than a car. Just one more reason not to vote for Uribe. Most motorcicle owner are not rich and are harworking people doing delivereis and using the moto as a way to make ends meet.

webmanco comments on Hey Any Pasta Lovers! I get the Barilla at Carefour, if I had tried the Decceco I don´t remember but it will be on the list. At Usaquen in Bogotá I saw an Italian store with lots of Pasta, don´t remember the name but I guess is a Restaurant as well. Will post the name once go there again. Colombia lacks of good pasta.

webmanco comments on What happened to the wheelchair project? I might not be right but don´t do generalize and do put trust and positivims before badmouthing most colombians, believing they would sell their own mother, and painting them as the bad guys. I am aware there might be corruption with charities and ONG´s as the government but still believe there are good people. Also I do know that some people working on charity do need to earn a wage.

webmanco comments on What happened to the wheelchair project? As stated before some people do need a wheel chair temporarily, upon the Medical diagnostics a chair can be given indefinaly, or for the necessarily period of time it takes to recover. Have the WC engraved with pbh.org donation "no para venta o reventa" Wheel chairs when needed are a priority over food. Now OneForYouMillion, there is a saying in Colombia that goes, El ladrón juzga por su condición. Generalization at its best OFYM Oh yea man THEY will be very tempted to just sell it for money that THEY need and keep on searching. Now if a family member or like that buys for them THEY will not sell it. ..................................................... As a matter of fact some colombians do donate, give away, don´t sell.

webmanco comments on What happened to the wheelchair project? Wheel chairs are not cheap, I do know a couple of places where they do sell them. Now tell a single parent of two maybe more that is in need of a wheel chair tha $400.000 is cheap. On the other hand I had seen people on really nice wheelchairs asking for money on the redlights, another one do sell phone minutes.

webmanco comments on What happened to the wheelchair project? Sloopskipper It takes time to get things done. Peter (Moderator) (Trustee board) (Dev team) (☼Travelguide writer) says on Nov 13, 2009, 10:30: flag We might start it up again, I'm gonna look at it in a few weeks. If not, I'm gonna refund the people that donated money. I got one package to deliver this month, I would do it while traveling, but for futures packages to be sent thru regular mail, "servientrega" or another company, then the funds should be used. Also it would be good to engrave on every chair or item something like , Donado por PBH.ORG, prohíbida su venta.

webmanco comments on Telephone problem..curious... Even big telcos do route their calls thru voip. I got magicjacks in Colombia if anyone needs them. It does not matther is the receiving end in Colombia does not have internet, she/he can just go to any internet cafe and do and receive calls, installation is a breeze, another advantage of the magicjack is that you can do three calls or conference, on incoming calls press # twices and voila.

webmanco comments on 14 year old girl shot 3 times in the head leaving school Most violence in Colombia is due to drug trafficking. Those examples you put up are a clear sample of it. Not to put the blame in any country but whose country got the more users? Users worldwide don´t care about snorting, sellers neither. What about this? Blame it on the fire.

webmanco comments on 14 year old girl shot 3 times in the head leaving school Funny thing in the States with the gun culture and all, a single ill man can shoot wound and kill several without anyone (gun owners, including military personel) being able to stop the rampage, where are the guns when needed?????
Yes there are seldom shootings in very few colombian public schools. There was a movie about a mass killer. Guess what it was a real life history and the killer did serve in USA, go figure.
