I have been in Colombia in and out for 2 years, never had any trouble or problems. Until the last previous 6 months. One incident, I went out to a local bar in Cali . Maybe it was luck I never had trouble in Medellin (which I thought was the most dangerous for gringos..), Bogota, San Andreas, Cartegena, and many other cities..
My fiancee stayed in our apartment due to being pregnant while I went out for a couple drinks to get out of the house.. ...
I have heard people use "te quiero", "te amo", "te ama", "Te quiere" used in Colombia.
Can someone explain the usage and the differences of these love terms for Colombian culture. I heard it differs in each latin country. Thanks ...
Hello, I was curious about law, justice and order in Colombia, preferably Medellin. What keeps a person from killing another? Or stealing, robbing, kidnapping, etc. I know there is a prison in Valle dupar and the sentences are pretty hard. But say for example, you were a foreigner in Medellin on vacation. And you get kidnapped or robbed or your life was threathen with a gun, what what happen? To you and the person causing the crime? I find it very intresting that when I was in Medellin, ...
This can be an intresting topic. I heard many cultura things about marriages and how serious they can be in South America. But I am intrested to know about Colombia. What is expected or what happens when a Husband catches his wife cheating with another man? Or vise versa?? I don't know what south american country this is, but I was told that the Husband had the legal right to kill his wife, like in Muslim culture as long as the police cannot catch him in the act or obtain him withing 24hrs. I do ...
Hello, I was thinking of living in Colombia and I would like to purchase or bring my guns with me from the states. Does anyone know the law in Colombia for personal weapons? If they can be possesed or owned in your household or carried like in the state of Texas. Or do they sell them in Colombia? Do they have shooting ranges as well? Thanks ...
I hear this everytime I go to a store or shop.....I think it means "can I help you" like the american sales man use? Just want to know for sure....Also does anyone know what
"Chimbada" mean? Is it bad or just a saying....And lastly "mari or marrica"???
Thanks , trying to learn the medellin slang...
If you know a website that has Medellin slang...I would appreciate the info...Thanks ...
I have been to Medellin personally about 8 times for some short vacation trips and I love the city, it is my favorite city out of Colombia. Can 't stand to live in Bogota or Cartegena.. personal prefrence. Never had any trouble and have some freinds there. I speak poorly with spanish, meaning if you heard me, you would understand , but you would know that I am not from Medellin or Colombian. But I blend in by looks. I want to live in Medellin for a year for the purpose of learning the ...
I hear the pageant is in November or something like this...If anyone knows when all the best looking ladies of Colombia will appear, please let me know. I want check this even out when the next one arrives. Thanks ...
I married a woman in Medellin a year and half ago and we planned to do the K-Visa route. Well over the year of getting married in Medellin, processing the papers for her visa and waiting. I caught her cheating on me with another man while I was away working in the US. Sad, but true. So I told her that I wanted a divorce and we both agreed she was caught red handed.. Now, I just cancelled her visa with the BCIS before she even got the invitation to get interviewed in Bogota. So now, wh ...
I am not Colombian, but I am dating a Colombiana from Medellin. I see all these statements on the internet about how loyal and affectionate Colombian women can be. But for some reason I can't believe this. My belief is women are women. People are people no matter where you come from. But I just wanted to hear anybody's opinion about their relationships with a Colombiana or Colombiano. Do colombians have strong morals of being loyal to their mate, husband or fiance. Just wanted to see if ...
