vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude shakes central Colombia Thanks God I didn't feel it coz I went to bed at 2:40 am (studying for two final exams)so I was in the fifth dream... But everybody else felt it in my house! I just remember the horrible earthquake on January 25th 1999(Armenia, Quindío). I'll be traumatized for the rest of my days... Whatever little shake just freaks me out!

vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on Bank Scam in Colombia. Something similar happened to me last year when I was on vacation in Orlando, FL at bank of america, I drove through and I got a withdrawal for $1000 bucks! from the car next to me, the cashier just mix it up. Then it took like two months for them to investigate and refund me everything, they just ruined my vacation, I spent a lot of time from bank to bank and making phone calls! Bummer!**

vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on Why are lines(colas) in Colombia wide and not long? huhuhu yeah.. the staring works some times! and yes, I say "colas" all the time! "voy a hacer la cola" It's the same, it's up to you which word you wanna use.
vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on Personally, I prefer american guys (dunno if it's the same with english guys) because they are blunt without going around... on the other hand most of colombian guys are soo two-faced, they just tell you what u wanna hear and do the opposite thing. But I think it depends on the experiences of each one

vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on Whats your favorite Colombian beer? I like aguila light or Redds... the soft ones.

vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on EasyFly from Medellin to Armenia- help well easyfly is a new airline, i think it's been since last year and it seems good so far... It's the cheapest at the moment. And as scooby said, traveling by bus here is so much better than in the US, I travel on greyhound bus from Orlando to Punta Gorda, and let me tell you that colombian buses are so much better and comfortable. I think the best are the big ones, those have AC, movies and comfortables seats... You might want to take some snacks with you and maybe take a pill of "mareol" (http://www.drugs.com/international/mareol.html) if you happen to suffer from motion sickness!

vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on What does '''Sóbese que no hay pomada'''' mean in english? yeah... but it depends on the region, every departamento or even small town has it's own sayings... for instance, "sóbese que no hay pomada" it's used very often here in Armenia. We have lots...

vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on What does '''Sóbese que no hay pomada'''' mean in english? lol yeah... it's so common! like when you fall down in a public place and everybody around starts laughing at you, then they say it meaning like: rub it, there's no boo boo juice! / bear it! / Don't you whine!
vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on Qué es tener pacho? No, as far as I know, if it was said by a woman it means that she has the period. I mean the menstrual period... am I being clear? Dunno if you say in English menstrual period or menstrual cycle... but that's what I know... We used to say that when we were in high school, I haven't heard it in a long time...

vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on SINCE AMERICA IS A COUNTRY, IS AFRICA A COUNTRY TOO? I think everybody who's born in the American continent is an american. And even though we don't scream it out loud, or somebody doesn't like it. Just the matter of have been born in this continent makes us americans.

vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on I was astonished in the US. When I tried to open these wood windows they were totally stuck, I had to hit them 'till they get loose and then they would open. And it seems I was the only one who wanted fresh air, nobody else would open a window.

vickysanmon@gmail.com comments on Spanish Translator for English people in Armenia, Quindío Bufalo, thank you for your comment. Well... I am sorry if you didn't have the best turism experience here. Speaking about how to know where the sights are... I was born here, and I´ve lived just one year of my life out of my home town. I´m not thinking of setting up something because my priority is to study, which I´m gonna start doing on january... So, this is more like to have some kind of contact with english foreign people in which I practice my english and the person can have some help with the spainsh experience. I´m aware of having bussiness here is really hard, it doesn´t pay! But that´s the reason why I´m not setting up a bussiness, I´m offering the service. I intend some mutual benefit. Anyhow, El departamento del Quindío is beatiful and it's perfect for the ones that love the nature, extreme sports, it has breathtaking landscapes and National Parks. But the best is the people!

But I also know that if you go to Salento (beautiful town in the way Armenia - Pereira) you might find american or english turists that may know about classes! Anyhow, whoever wants to take my deal we could plan like weekly meetings or figure something out.
