This ship left Cape Liberty, NJ on October 27th, and will visit Santa Marta on Sunday Nov.4th, then Cartgena, San Andres, Panama and back to Miami.

I bought dollars for 1960 pesos today

in Santa Marta, not a bank. I wish I had more pesos to buy more dollars at this price. This is like 10% off the official bank rate, not bad, eh? Dollars cost 2220 back in March using ATM in USA.

My Mineros de Antioquia stock went up 25% this week, from 2000 to 2500 (new record). I love it!!

ACBlessing!

Welcome back. Where have you been?

Gold, Dow Jones or Colombian stock market?

In the US the stock market has risen for over 1100 days without a 10 per cent correction, which is quite unusual. Since 2000, gold has outperformed the Dow Jones by 100 per cent. The Colombian market index IGBC closed today at 11,212 while the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 11,239. Where are you putting your spare change these days? ...

Tied for 2nd

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/06/sports/golf/06golf.html

Camilo Villegas has made a big impact on the PGA Tour. When he was tied with Tiger Woods for first place after 2 rounds, it was the lead story Saturday evening on Colombian national television (Caracol TV).

It's like when Juan Pablo Montoya started winning sports car races, he became a big news item in Colombia. Personally, I don't think golf is very interesting to watch on tv. ...

DJIA = IGBC

As of midday March 1, Dow Jones Industrial Average is at 11,063 and the Indice General de la Bolsa de Colombia is at 11,182.

So, which one do you think will be higher at the end of this month? and in December? I'm betting on the Colombian index to beat the US stock market again this year. ...

Cali airport

My wife and I spent Wednesday night at Cali airport, we got there at 9:30 pm on CO 820 from Houston, and since we were going CLO-BOG at 6am we decided to tough it out without a hotel room.

It was a very nice experience, Avianca opens for business at 5am. Salsa music all night long!

Avianca flys MD-83s, so standard carry on luggage must go as checked baggage. We were allowed one 45 lb suitcase
and one 35 pound carry-on each. We sent another 50 lb suitcase CLO ...

Tayrona Park

I went there last Saturday, with my wife and two daughters.
The tour costs 35.000 pesos but we paid 100.000 for the four of us. Tour is by mucrobus and leaves from Rodadero or Santa Marta at 10 am., back at 6pm. We walked about 20 km, the trails were quite difficult and muddy, take off your shoes for that hike. Well worth the effort, we needed a day to recover, though. Any questions? ...

Apology to ACBlessing

I didn't know you had been married before in Colombia, since you've done it before then you ARE definitely the expert. The blond consular officer might say, "Not YOU again?" but, hey, gotta keep trying until you get it right (which is the definition of SUCCESS, not how much money you make from your clients, God help them). Try, try again..didn't I say that already?

You certainly are good at calling other people names though, counsellor, let's hope you can keep your cool because yo ...
