are you kidding me? one million US in Colombia get you in the ok group but not in the richer top, i know many people who have one million US on the bank and are still considered middle class. i would say, to be considered rich in colombia you need to have atleast $5,000,000 US and up, the actual rich colombians have a few hundred million US. the richest colombian have 1,4 billion US acording to forbes.

They always say "sorry i didnt make the tarifa today" and then when you look in the cab you may find about $80.000 being hide somewhere, when they come with the tarifa short is because they are using the difference on something else and they are planing to repay it the next day. A usual shift starts at 6:00 am and ends around 9:00 pm but they never work all those hours. I have seen some of the drivers talking on the cellphone for a while and then go back to work, sometimes they sit down by a mall and just wait for the customers. I guess having a GPS is a advantage too sicne you can park by most malls and groceries stores

I stood at that same hotel (Hotel Alcaravan) and never had any problems there, I would recommend you to go to a brand new hotel called Sauces del Estadio, it is located right behind the obelisco mall, the price is a little bit higer but not too much and the hotel looks better.

acording to the DANE the 30% of the Barranquilla´s population are cachacos....enought said. btw if you go to Bananas in la murillo you will find about 50 cachacas working there, mmm what is the name of the huge one near la cordialidad? well around 300 cachacas work in there. btw el centro and all the tiendas in Baq are cachaco runned. CACHACOS= all the corronchos who are not from the coast.

I personally now Machin and his girlfriend and all i can say is that they are a happy couple, they love each other and they are really happy, Machin is a great person as well as his girlfriend, they both are mature and old enough to decide what they want, and here is where the difference starts, most gringos send money to their girls and if they dont then the relationship is over, but Machin doesnt send any money to her nor she need any money from him, she have a job and she have never asked him for money or anything. they take care of each other on their own way and i can tell they care and love each other.
