South American Airlines

hey folks , trying to get my brother from honduras to bogota to meet the family for christmas.he could fly from San Pedro Sula or Tegulcigalpa. not having much luck right now(yes, I know we should've planned earlier). loose date range of 12/15 - 01/02. even just a list of different airline names would be a great help. stupid question

headed to colombia for a few weeks in dec.
someone told me that your passport had to be issued a few months prior to travel there.colombian rules. now i know this has to be pure b. s. but someone please back me up .I've got family that is getting all worried about the passports.
also anyone know the average time to get passport once it has been applied for.not expedited service
