Thanks for all the feedback. I did happen to call a lawyer in NY today. He said the requirement is to have 17000 a year or 3x that in assets (51000). I ´m borderline ,he said if i went the way of a cosighner it wouldnt be a problem. And gringold , based on my income i did receive a visa here, so there did ´nt seem to be any problem with But I guess after travelling around the world for the last 10 years I miss the states and want to settle down. For good or bad it´s still home. And by the way ,the lawyer wants 2000$ ,which i think, is the going rate. again thanks too everyone for the advice-
