I'm finding it really difficult to get excited over my upcoming trip leaving my daughter behind. This has to be one of the most difficult challenges as a single parent, having travel plans undermined and vetoed by your ex-partner. I probably could have forced my hand but she's a bit of a Daddy's girl and wants to make him happy. She would have felt guilty.
Has this ever happened to anybody else? I've never had it happen to this extent before. He's given me a hard time about signing travel affidavits, passport docs, and it was always stressful and left to the 11th hour, but we've always ended up going through with our plans on schedule. I think it's Colombia as a travel destination this time around that's adding to his resistance. THAT I don't need at all. I have a difficult enough time getting my daughter to 'think outside the 5 star resort" as it is.

goin_south says on Dec 14, 2008, 12:45: I'm confused. Is she going with you, or staying behind? Okay, reading again,... you wanted her to go, but he is resisting, so she doesn't want to go against his wishes. Si? No?

babygirl says on Dec 14, 2008, 12:53: Hey GS. She's staying behind with her Dad and yes she doesn't want to 'rock the boat' to made him mad so I dropped it. I knew all of this a few weeks ago, but it's just kind of hitting me now. :) At least I'll get a credit for her airfare. babygirl says on Dec 14, 2008, 13:51: Yes I am going to make it to Cali for the fair. It sounds like a blast. I actually just booked my room for a few nights, so I'm going to check that out first and then make my way to the beach for a few days.
