Howdy everyone,
I was travelling around in Ecuador while we had the elections up here (no "ley seca" weekend for me) and just got back this week. I have been trying to get some info on the elections and can't seem to find anything online. The colomians I asked a pretty apolitical and don't have a clue either.
Any links out there with more details?
Thanks in advance

I'm tired of using VOIP through my computer as everybody I call always complains about a bad connection - I undestrand them fine but they won't understand me.
Anyways - I was thinking about getting a VOIP Adapter (where you would plug in a regular phone) oder maybe a a VOIP phone. I have seen ads on tv so they must have them here. I really have no Idea though where I could get an adapter withouth signing a contract etc.

Hi all,
I'm severy pissed off by the ATMs / cash dispensers around here (Bogotá): I have a Maestro and a VISA card and whatever I do I never get more than 300,000 out of an ATM at a single transaction.
Not that I need millions but my bank charges 4,50€ for every Maestro withdrawal (I don't get more than 200,000$ out of an ATM with this one) or they charge me 5,11€ for a VISA withdrawal (where I'll get 300,000$). I prefer not having my cards with me and pay in cash- pay ...
Howdy everyone,
I'm going to get some prints made from digital photos. Where can I do this in Bogotá?
I checked at Foto Japon quick but didn't see anything obvious. But then again I didn't ask nor did I feel like standing in line to ask them about it.
Cheers

I read a couple of comments about people catching flights from Miami to Bogotá with Avianca so there seems to be a lot of people travelling that route.
I stumbled over a cheap alternative the other day that you guys hopefully will appreciate hearing about:
Lan Peru (yes, the actually operate direct flights from Bogotá to Miami).
With them the round-trip sets you back 381USD (including taxes and "other fees", which must be the impuestos de salida?) wh ...
Howdy everyone,

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutria
Until that point I never knew that nutrias are endangered nor had I even thought about them in a long long time.
I'm from eastern Germany and before the wall came down nutria was a very common and cheap meat for us there - the nutrias were domesticated for t ...
Howdy everybody,
seems like all my colombian friends took off to visit family etc. and the poor "mono" is left stranded all by himself in Bogotá.
So is there anything that one has to see or do for new years or should I just hit the zona rosa or something?
Cheers
